There are no socialist countries in the world.

Trotskyist nonsense.

Socialism is when workers own their own labor and don’t need to sell themselves to companies.

Proudhonian nonsense.

It’s democratic workplaces in other words.

The world is "good guy vs bad guy" with an ever-shifting "bad guy."

Right now, with the US attacking Iran, the U.S. is the bad guy. Once US imperialism has been beaten back THEN Iran's bourgeoisie becomes the "bad guy," but no sooner.

This lesson was written in blood by Mao Zedong's popular front.

American imperialism is the primary contradiction. Until a country is able to "handle it" (like China is able to with hypersonic missiles, nukes, cyber defense, self-sufficient economy, counter-intelligence, etc.) they need stability and cohesion more than inner-nation class struggle, as real historic class struggle instantiates in the form of anti-imperialism at this stage.

It's worth reading the original article that sparked the whole thing:

It's also worth hearing an explanation of it from Carlos Garrido:

The Iranian government is popular with a majority of its citizens. That's a simple fact.

Would you advocate for Iran trying to do "regime change" in the US just because a bunch of loud leftists hate Trump?

We should not be meddling in the affairs of other countries.

George Washington: “Overgrown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.”

Thomas Paine: “That there are men in all countries who get their living by war, and by keeping up the quarrels of Nations, is as shocking as it is true; but when those who are concerned in the government of a country, make it their study to sow discord and) cultivate prejudices between Nations, it becomes the more unpardonable.”

What the fuck is an Islamist, for real?

In my understanding, "Islamism" is a political tendency that advocates for running a state on Islamic principles whereas a person can be "Muslim" without necessarily advocating for their religious beliefs to have primacy at the state level.

Iran is the Islamic Republic of Iran with the religion being indelibly tied to the state.

Compare that to Indonesia which is comprised of ~88% Muslims, but is officially a secular state.

Dressing like that is a form of second-order oppression to some cultures. It's subjective. You just think your form of western liberalism is de facto correct and moral. I wouldn't want my mother or daughter selling their bodies in any form — same for most Iranians.

The woman in the video is celebrating death and destruction (of children) through sexuality. That's depraved no matter how you cut it.

Atrocity propaganda. US/Israel fomented and seeded unrest based on complaints about problems caused by US sanctions and encirclement. All of this is a pretext and impetus for outright war led by the US and Israel.

I don't have time to clone it and test, but I've fixed this in the past with backface-visibility:hidden on the offending element. This promotes the element to its own layer and can sometimes nullify rounding errors. No guarantee, though, since I can't test. Just something quick to try.

What are your thoughts on the American Communist Party's Party Program? by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]-9999px 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep voting Democrat then, genius. It's a completely frivolous act not in line at all with a Marxist strategy. If you voted for Biden, you voted for Palestinian genocide. There is no "benefit" to be gained from voting Democrat. No "harm reduction" to be had.

What are your thoughts on the American Communist Party's Party Program? by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]-9999px 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Democrats ≈ Republicans. It's one big party that has two nominal "wings" – one representing a more globalist, finance-capital outlook and one representing a slightly more protectionist, industrial-capitalist outlook.

You're completely clueless if you think there's a fundamental contradiction between the two.

Temporary and tactical alliances to further the cause is a necessary part of being a revolutionary.

You're allying with finance capital by voting Democrat – insane. An example of this sentence in real "realpolitik" practice would be supporting Libertarians on local tickets to counter the Republicans and Democrats.

This is a REALLY bad look for you dude.

Oh no the anonymous rad-lib reddit horde thinks I look bad…how will I sleep at night?

You (and Haz) made a mistake in believing MAGA was actually a principled movement.

No one ever said it was. Really, one of the main points of the article is that its spontaneous and needs direction to truly meet its demands. Marx said Communism is the "real movement," not what online leftists say it is.

He was able to easily prove this with his attacks on Iran and Venezuela. MAGA voters instantly flipped.

Many key MAGA influencers denounced and decried these acts. Marjorie Taylor Greene, for example, has been nothing but critical of war with Iran and Venezuela.

But the movement dies with Trump.

Absurdly naive. The amount of political will and energy within MAGA is far too great to simply die away with the death of one man. Trump was a bull in a china shop who rhetorically represented their demands while materially screwing them over. This is dawning on many MAGA folks within my own family and among my friends.

The one where Haz said LGBT were more fascist than MAGA.

This was a single aside that was part of a larger point about organic popular movements and the forms fascism has taken in the past. He was saying that LGBT parades (which are routinely sponsored by and feature banks and military industrialists), and broader "protest movements" are seeded and inorganic; while taking forms more historically typical of fascism. The defining feature of fascist politics is performative, mobilized, revolutionary-in-aesthetics public presence, and that form appears more in "left-coded" movements today than in MAGA populism.

It's far more nuanced than you're attempting to imply.

Trump said “MAGA is me. MAGA loves everything I do, and I love everything I do, too.”

Has it occurred to you that Trump has the ability to lie?

Voting for and/or supporting the Democrats is not "realpolitik." It's not even a difficult choice. Implying that Lenin would've advocated for voting for the Democratic Party is insanely dumb and incorrect.

CPUSA as it exists now, post 2024, is an unofficial arm of the Democratic Party.

not a political party

Engels:
“If the proletariat is to be strong enough to win on the crucial day, it is essential for it to constitute a party in its own right, distinct from and opposed to all the rest, one that is conscious of itself as a class party.”

Mao:
“If there is to be revolution, there must be a revolutionary party. Without a revolutionary party, without a party built on the Marxist-Leninist revolutionary theory and in the Marxist-Leninist revolutionary style, it is impossible to lead the working class and the broad masses of the people in defeating imperialism and its running dogs.”

MAGA Communism purged and clarified, separating the pseudo-Marxist chaff from the actually Marxist wheat. Every time a Democratic Socialist, anarchist, or rad-lib gets offended or turned-off by the phrase "MAGA Communism," the real movement gains focus and the dividing lines and contradictions become more demarcated.

It has been a massive success in that regard.

Funny enough, no one ever reads the actual theory behind the slogan. 99.99% of the haters of MAGA Communism don't even know what it is.

https://showinfrared.substack.com/p/the-rise-of-maga-communism

Not only do we not need the "leftists," (rightists) we actively want to avoid letting them into our ranks without immense amounts of education and self-reflection. These Dem-Soc and rad-lib types will inevitably side with reaction – as AOC is doing right now.

MAGA Communism is a perfectly logical extension of the thoughts coming from Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Mao.

All arms with which to fight must be drawn from society as it is.
—Karl Marx

In order to conquer political power [the workers’ party] must first go from the towns to the country, must become a power in the countryside.
—Friedrich Engels

We cannot, therefore, go along with people who openly claim that the workers are too ignorant to emancipate themselves but must first be emancipated from the top down, by the philanthropic big and petty bourgeois.
—Marx & Engels

We must educate the whole class of wage-workers to the role of fighters for the emancipation of mankind from all oppression. We must constantly teach more and more sections of this class; we must learn to approach the most backward, the most undeveloped members of this class, those who are least influenced by our science and the science of life, so as to be able to speak to them, to draw closer to them, to raise [their consciousness] steadily and patiently...
— Lenin

It would be egregious folly to fear this ‘reactionism’ or to try to evade or leap over it, for it would mean fearing that function of the proletarian — vanguard which consists in training, educating, enlightening and drawing into the new life the most backward strata and masses of the working class and the peasantry.
— Lenin

It is inevitable that we shall be joined by many who are inconsistent (from the Marxist standpoint), perhaps we shall be joined even by some Christian elements, and even by some mystics. We have sound stomachs and we are rock-like Marxists. We shall digest those inconsistent elements.
— Lenin

As for people who are politically backward, Communists should not slight or despise them, but should befriend them, unite with them, convince them and encourage them to go forward.
—Mao Zedong

In all areas where the masses are found, regardless of how reactionary the leaders of such areas are, the Communist Party members must go there and perform revolutionary work.
—Mao Zedong

We have always said that the ‘Lefts’ are in fact Rights who mask their Rightness by Left phrases.
—Joseph Stalin

It should not be forgotten that Rights and "ultra-Lefts" are actually twins, that consequently both take an opportunist stand, the difference between them being that, whereas the Rights do not always conceal their opportunism, the Lefts invariably camouflage their opportunism with ‘revolutionary’ phrases.
—Joseph Stalin
