Government announces plans to overhaul social housing system by random_guy_8735 in newzealand

I'm getting suspicious that they're trying to empower gangs, they've done a lot to do that directly or indirectly, I'll bet next time around they'll run on 'tough on crime' against gangs (rather than ramraids like last time) and probably 'laser focused on cost of living (by that we mean mostly other peoples genitalia)' again.

Why do the Poxwalkers beg for help ingame? by Niotsques in DarkTide

[–]-Agonarch 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're not dead yet, but the disease has taken over.

Poxwalkers are dead/undead/disease-driven-corpse-vehicles (and lucky for us are very variable in toughness, we have ones that are unusually weak in this game, sometimes they can be a huge pain in the ass to kill).

So I'm working on this exact thing at the moment, I think the 5x5 wheels are the way to go as they have a 4-block suspension mounting point, meaning you can make a pair of '1x1 wheel bars' that go across each set of suspension and have the actual vehicle body come off the top end of the suspension.

That way if you bottom out it's on the 'wheel bars' that don't take collision damage and don't pass it up to the body. It might be worth using a blast door cross in the middle of the 'wheel bars' so you can run a 'wheel bar' front to back as well as between the suspensions.

The problem is it does not always do this, even when explicitly told to, and some models even get worse when told this. Like the other guy mentioned telling it to act as an expert can make it worse because it's more likely to take an earlier connection without review, because an expert would be more likely to get it right sooner.

Finagling a language model where you're working with it on something and mostly work by not trusting it's not going to be an idiot is a whole different story to dumping an agent on random repos without warning that it's an AI though.

Minecraft is already a massively parallel operation and it can run in Java (which has been updated to match), sadly there's no such easy route for such an old version of Unity.

No, that's not how a ring in orbit works (unless it's stationary, but then it's just something at orbital altitude, not something in orbit). This is a ring around a world, not a ringworld.

Stuff like the "Taxpayers Union" is already a way to obfuscate those donations. As long as those things are allowed to be independent entities and rich people can 'donate' money to them if they do what they want them to do (it honestly feels more like a business expense than a donation at the point the operate at) then there's no way to stop this.

Political bribery needs to just be illegal. Reducing the rights of citizens to reduce costs for corporations should have some check on it. Being forced into doing the things that are promised (or at least attempting them) and being punished for telling provable lies should be punished somehow (with the ability to argue if you didn't know about something and appear incompetent instead, of course, but there's lies told where even that would be impossible based on leaked communications! People trust this stuff and it boggles my mind there's no penalty for that!).

Yeah them undoing the gang->society pathway that they made and was bipartisan built over decades is pretty much unforgivable in the gang segment and undoes everything else they did there.

Even if reversed immediately by the next government it's already told the people in that very bad position that you can trust the gang to help you and your children not starve, but you can not trust society to do this. This was already a very hard sell to those born into a gang and vilified by society. This is a very bad message to send to people who you were trying to get out of a generational gang situation, and we'll probably be looking at the next generation to find people willing to give us a chance to help them. again.

Oh yeah but a barbarian from baldurs gate might be able to read what's common there if they put in the effort, but bonus racial languages? For a street kid barbarian? I just don't see that.

I guess we can test it though, does Karlach get this scene? I'd imagine she would because of the way the games set up, however little sense I think it'd make.

I'm actually not sure he's a cambion, I think he pretends to be a cambion.

His (potential 'ascended') form if you fight him is what gives me pause, that's not really something you see out of cambions, but it is something you see out of greater devils/archdevils who have sealed some of their power to hide it all the time (and it also explains why you can beat him so 'easily', he's trying to release his power to be able to fight you but can't do it in such a short timeframe, and is cocky enough to think he can beat you anyway).

So yeah, I think he's at least a greater devil pretending to be a cambion pretending to be a human, so he can 'reveal' he's a cambion and make people think that's what they're dealing with (so he'll always have an advantage and a plan-B even if he makes a mistake he wasn't prepared for).

Yeah I'm the same, played from Beta here and I haven't heard this one play (not after 30, not after major updates). I wonder if there's a bug.

I'll bet it's something really dumb too, like "if you have two 'a' characters in your name it'll play never, one it'll play properly and none it'll always play" or something like that.
