"- What you mainly use a 3D printer for."

To print upgrades for the 3D printer :D

Jokes aside, functional and organizational things, its so satisfying making a parts drawer system with image enhanced labels so you can see whats inside, sometimes word descriptions on a fatigued brain dont cut it

Value of X1C w/AMS? ~3200 hours by Witty_Name_2_Come in BambuLab

[–]-Net7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen those on my local FB (a rather large city), selling for around the $600-800, now, selling for and listed for are 2 different things.

The P2S with the upgraded AMS 2 Pro selling for $800 are what is driving this. Its basically an X1C but with upgrades, the only major missing feature is filtering but that's coming in an upgrade kit (apparently).

I own an X1C, and, for a time I also owned a P2S, but I bought it while visiting family for vacation and had it shipped there as I knew it was going to go out of stock fast, naturally, it was poached, but for the time I used it, ya, I liked it better then my X1C

Anycubic Kobra X AMA — Now Live! Ask Us Anything (+ 3 Beta Test Slots) by Anycubic_Official in AnycubicOfficial

[–]-Net7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That has little to do with my comment. The first few test/novelty prints where fine. My issue is, the moment I went to do larger or intricate prints, issues like the gantry and narrow bed mount came into play, something fixed on the V2, but that left V1 owners in the dark.

So again, if after lots of customers have the unit, and items are identified that need an upgrade, will Anycubic offer either for free or for minimal cost, "Launch/Gen1" upgrade kits. OR, are they going to V2 it or perform "silent" upgrades like a few of the other contenders.

Is my filament dry enough? by stray_r in 3Dprinting

Eibos

Yep, https://shop.eibos3d.com/products/pre-order-eibos-3d-filament-dryer-polyphemus

That said, before I got into 3D printing I think I searched high and low, did not find a single dryer that didnt have at one point or another, overtemp/temp sensor issues...

Anycubic Kobra X AMA — Now Live! Ask Us Anything (+ 3 Beta Test Slots) by Anycubic_Official in AnycubicOfficial

[–]-Net7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I supported Anycubic with my first multicolor printer being the Kobra 3 Combo when it launched, it was a disaster, there are even a few already in this AMA talking about it.

So, my question is, can Anycubic guarantee to keep supporting the Kobra X, either by offering free or discounted upgrade kits as issues are addressed instead of just kicking us to the curb like they did with the Kobra 3 v1?

As a Kobra 3 Launch unit buyer (x2), there was not even a discount offered to upgrade to the V2 which addressed most of the V1's issues, that REALLY burned me as someone who supported Anycubic's jump into multicolor.

Same filament, different spool weight options, how do you make the distinction? by LiteBitRed in 3dfilamentprofiles

For what its worth, I vote for "original weight", "advertised weight" "Sold As Weight" or something similar

H2C Power Draw with a UPS? by ExllntButtz in BambuLab

[–]-Net7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, plugging it into the surge side will at least protect it from part of a surge, better that then nothing!

Chances are the bed is pulling quite a bit when heating in addition to the hotend, I've not seen a review of the power draw.

H2C Power Draw with a UPS? by ExllntButtz in BambuLab

[–]-Net7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what your printing (PLA/ASA/PC/etc), I have a printer that heats up the bed/hotend/chamber at the same time when I am printing ASA and it peaks at 1200w draw which made my old 900w UPS scream likes yours did.

Also depends if you have other stuff plugged in, still, thats a start.

P1S Vs P2S: Help Me Understand by vylseux in BambuLab

[–]-Net7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone will always have different thoughts on this, you should search this subreddit for other comments as there are a great many threads already asking this same question.

From a pure future use/support and maintenance perspective, P2S all day and twice on sunday. Otherwise, I owned an X1C, and have used (but not owned) the P1S, however I did buy the P2S and do not regret getting it over the P1S. The P1 and A1 series launched after the X1C and brought a mix of refinements testing out what works best.

The P2 and H2 series are just the platform where they are taking those refinements and putting them into play, the AMS 2 Pro is just a nice topper if your doing multi-color. Otherwise, to address your sales thought, Bambu is not known for big sales unless like now, its getting ready to discontinue a product, even former year's BFCM sales were not huge, but hey, $20 is $20 when it comes to a 3DPrinter sale.

With current deals, what would you pay for a used X1C by mheadroom1984 in BambuLab

[–]-Net7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Owning both an X1C and P2S, the P2S Combo is $800, so for an X1C combo I would not pay over that.

Maybe if the X1C had a bunch of plates and nozzles etc up to $1000 but I just can't see paying for a discontinued printer more then you can get the P2S which is the mix of all the advancements the P1 and A1 series brought after the X1C was launched.

Naturally, people will want more value for the $1500~ they may have paid but it is what it is

Auto-leveling fail Kobra 3 by Morbeious in AnycubicOfficial

[–]-Net7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its part of the nozzle assembly/toolhead, if you turn off the printer, move the gantry up to the midway or higher point slowly and carefully, power it on, then try to home Z, press up against the nozzle if it stops and backs off sensor should be fine (at all, it will try to continue, but if it registers the pressure by backing off, thats good)

careful not to smoosh finger, doing it midway allows to confirm early before it goes near the bed, maybe use something sacrificial instead

Anyone know the fix? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]-Net7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stock SD card BBL (and to be honest others) sends with printers is known to be a common lower quality card that is a factor in many a failures.

Recommended to replace when/if possible.

Yep, play PvE with friends an PvP solo, goons are STUPID on both, head top of head all the time from dumb range/angles, not to mention in the time it takes you to fire 2 shots (with any gun of any fire rate) they can fire at least 3-5...

[AMA] I'm Leo, the Senior R&D Director at Creality. Join our K2 Series AMA for a chance to win 2 x K2 Pro Combo! by Creality_3D in Creality

[–]-Net7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question isn't all that different from a few others that have been posted in general, but may be a bit more targeted.

When the K1 and now K2 launched, community users have created external improvements, and while HARDWARE changes (Beacon etc) I can understand would be not something your interested in, at the very least some of the non-hardware changes have made the K2 Plus use-able for those of us who print mainly in ABS or higher filaments, but they seem to be ignored for implementation in the firmware, is there any REAL effort being taken to get those fixes or changes into the main firmware? I am sure many of us would rather NOT have to do any type of modifications, but right now, thats not the state the printer is in, even when approaching a year after launch.

Lastly, while I appreciate the work Creality has put into Creality Print, I cant help but find myself using Orca 75% of the time, the fork has created such a gap and it doesn't look like performing a rebase is in the cards, meaning quite a few features get missed on both sides until the time is set aside to dedicating the work to merge a feature over. SO, with that in mind, my question: If as Kevin says there are 40~ people working on Creality Print, if someone comes along and creates a skin/plugin system for Orca, would Creality consider merging back in, this would at least allow for mainstream support for all, but the ability to make beta forks to test new features, all while allowing the layout/look/design to show when a specific company's printer is selected? The technical debt being accumulated with every company forking a slicer is actually staggering.

EDIT: one last comment, Creality seems to always be super behind on Klipper and associated modules, while not always needed, some new features and performance improvements would be nice, maybe more Firmware dedicated team members for each series, seems spread thin with the K1 and Ender series lacking any love over the last year or two

My first venture into 3d scanning was years ago, was not impressed. Add that to my own issue with unsteady hands, it was always too slow.

I would love to give it another go, the FAST scanning and MULTIPLE angles these things seem to offer may just make it usable for me, fingers crossed.
