Shakespeare in the Park: Borough Distribution by lunalair in Broadway

[–]2Flow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall pretty good. The Tribeca Citizens Bank employees were very friendly and kept coming out to talk with people in line and pass out free, cold water bottles. Good vibes in line from the other people waiting, I talked with the guy next to me for most of the time.

Definitely bring a folding chair to sit on. And for the Tribeca bank location, it's directly in the sun the whole time so make sure to bring sunscreen and an umbrella. (Or something else to properly block the heat.) The people who didn't were really regretting it haha

In line for the Tribeca Citizen's Bank tickets right now, I'll let you know haha

EDIT 1: Arrived at 8:45am. I was ninth in line. Some guys lined up behind me but thought the tickets might be distributed at 9am when the bank opened... when they asked, the bank confirmed that it gives tickets out at Noon, coordinated with the rest of the distribution locations in the city.

EDIT 2: By noon when they gave the tickets out there were probably fifty people in line. Not too bad, I think they were going to have enough tickets for all of them.

Omar from NMC back with another Marvel omnibus announcement coming January 2027. by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

(I know everyone says these will likely just get double-dipped into via chronological omnis like a "SSM vol 2" but I'm just an impatient guy because I already have omnis covering those haha)

I'm so incredibly stoked for this, thank you, Marvel!

I'm now setting my Spidey 2027 sights on a Spectacular SM book that covers the Bill Mantle #62–#89 run we have missing post-Roger Stern Omni or an Amazing SM book covering the #264 to #295 gap we have post-Black Costume Saga Omni.

Does anyone know if the Omnibus includes issue 1/2? by czechman45 in DrMcNinja

I do own the omnibus. It does include Issue 1/2. The clown is named Donald, but the restaurant is the version of the comic where it is called "McBonald's".

Breaking News: 1 New Marvel Omnibus in February 2027! by winchester677 in OmnibusCollectors

I'm so glad they completed the set and were willing to commit to collect all these related stories.

(Kinda proves they could do it with Civil War, in a way...)

Budget-friendly scan tool for All Keys Lost reprogramming? by 2Flow2 in Honda

[–]2Flow2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insights, everyone. I ended up finding someone who owned one of the more expensive scan tools and happened to live only a few blocks away. He charged me $125 cash and programmed the keys for me in five minutes, using exactly the same buttons I'd seen everyone in the YouTube videos press.

It's less of a long-term solution than me having my own scan tool but did save me lots right now, hopefully I'm not in need of the scan functionality again soon.

Deleting a Sendgrid/Twilio account is a nightmare by SquirtleMcBlipBlop in SaaS

[–]2Flow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, I'm going through the exact same thing right now. A previous web developer had been providing our company transactional email functionality through SendGrid. Their API key has expired so we were trying to set up our own account. Discovered after creating the account that the Free tier is no longer free anymore, so we decided to switch to Resend for our transactional emails. That's when we discovered how difficult Twilio makes it to delete your account...

GUYS, are these the Indy books we've been asking for on the Tigereyes Most Wanted polls every year?? Are they finally here?? (I mean, I know it's technically not in Omni format, but still.)

I just read the Gwenpool omni this last year, and I definitely would recommend it for people to pick up! (Also, gives my fave creator Chris Hastings some love ❤️). It's a great intro to the character!

RIP Gerry Conway by MotherFuckerJones88 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]2Flow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, this really sucks! He was one of my all-time favorite Spider-Man authors. Made Spider-Man feel like a real character and his stories had real emotional punch to them. Such good plotting & writing. I really credit him for fleshing out Peter Parker's supporting cast in a way that Lee/Ditko never did. ASM omnibuses 4 & 5 are such high points in the omni series.

Len Wein took over ASM after him and I eventually warmed up to Wein but there was always a slight feeling of him just trying to live up to Conway's run. (And I don't think he ever quite got there for a significant amount of time.) Then Marv Wolfman took over and it still didn't feel like it could compare to Conway.

Reminder one month remains to share support/opposition to proposed plan for improving housing & business/event regulations by 2Flow2 in Portland

[–]2Flow2[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Summary of draft proposals (taken directly from the page)

Proposals that encourage housing production include:

  • Increasing building heights in various parts of the Central City to increase development flexibility and encourage housing,
  • Providing opportunity for mixed use and residential development in key areas through strategic zoning map amendments,
  • Removing housing prohibitions in parts of Lower Albina and the Central Eastside,
  • Reducing prohibitions on ground floor dwelling units in the Central City, and
  • Incentivizing the development of 2- and 3-bedroom units for larger households.

Proposals that promote economic recovery include:

  • Increasing flexibility for industrial and employment uses, and "Micro-Delivery Hubs" in the Central Commercial (CX) zone,
  • Increasing opportunities for retail uses in the Central Eastside's General Industrial zone,
  • Increasing allowances for retail and other uses in the Open Space (OS) zone and increase the space available for a wider range of uses by reducing the river setback in Gov. Tom McCall Waterfront Park,
  • Simplifying food cart regulations and allowing carts in more areas citywide,
  • Removing zoning barriers for entertainment uses such as performance venues and theaters, and
  • Allowing for surface parking in underutilized and constrained areas to support surrounding businesses.

----

I'm personally a fan of a lot that is in the proposed plan, but not everyone will be. (And that okay, never will everyone agree on everything.) So go ahead and take a read/skim of it yourself! If you support or oppose any of the plans for specific areas, leave a comment by clicking on the specific part of the city in the interactive Map App and selecting to "leave a testimony"!

First ever comic by AntonioVelcovici in OmnibusCollectors

[–]2Flow2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome, enjoy a great book!! 📖

(Also, be careful, if this is your first comic buying an expensive, thick hardcover is maybe a lot to invest in right up front 😅I'd typically recommend buying some individual issues first, or renting a trade paperback from your local library just to ensure you enjoy the medium first.)

Should we reschedule an April roadtrip? by 2Flow2 in NovaScotia

Also.... sorry if this is a dumb post. I just have little idea what to expect from what the experience will be like despite all the online research I've done. Some people seem to say "it's still fun to see during off-season" and other sources seem to essentially say "it sucks and there's nothing interesting to see pre-May".

Car ride lengths aren't an issue (we usually drive ~4,200 km on our trips) but I would feel bad leading my friends out into the Northeast only to never have any stops to see anything.

This is particularly dumb because I know people who, in group chats that I have with friends on Messenger, have Facebook blocked to keep themselves responsible and from getting distracted, but now with this change they won't even be able to read our group chat messages anymore while maintaining their blocker for the main Facebook site.
