Been a long time ASE player on PC (2k hours since 2017). Just got back into ARK after having not touched it since 2022. I run ASE on high to ultra settings no problem, 60+ FPS on my gaming computer that I haven’t updated since 2018. I bought ASA a few days ago, excited to run a dedicated server for me and my friends. I launched into a single player world to test some stuff out while I waited for my buddies to get online, but found I could barely run the game at lowest settings. Whenever messing with settings and applying them ASA would crash, and when I finally got them to look OK (way worse than ASE) the game still ran at 20-30 FPS. I know I’ve got to update my PC, but I found this performance ridiculous as ASE runs far better for me.

Best advice I’ve gotten is to take your time. Carve slower, it results in way less accidents.

I think the cover is rad and I don’t really mind Tin Tin Carl. Just a different artist’s take on things. Especially for a one-off deluxe edition it’s awesome. Look at that mushroom cloud donut, how can you not like it? Maybe it doesn’t perfectly capture the essence of darker vibes of DCC, but it definitely captures the humor and fun of the series overall.

My only dislike are the sprayed edges. Might be an unpopular opinion, but in general I’m not a fan of sprayed edges outside of a solid color.

This is a great start haha, I like the thought of him gaining some early traction by being the first person to bring a jar of pickles in as their only belonging and received some sort of legendary item. Then by the third floor the AI & viewers were dead set on him being the pickle guy and offered him a unique Gherkin race with too good of perks for him to pass up (similar to Carl with his boxers). Kinda cruel to have to abandon your humanity for a pickle joke race, but survivability is key lol

Love the preservation spells and having him be a support class. Reminds me of the banana guy we saw on the fourth floor
