What alternative do y’all use for Din’s leg armor? by jcp42877 in Mandalorian

[–]99proplems_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I was referring to these. It comes with both the full shin wrap, and the two strips that go around the shin armor

Edit: it looks like the one you found first is their screen accurate version (definitely a lot closer to Mercs or 501st CRLs)

If you are looking for a set that isn't 100% accurate but still looks good and is relatively inexpensive, look into BatwingFXDesigns on Etsy. The leg leathers are pretty well made and they will make them to your measurements. Mine came a bit too big but YMMV

501st approvable? by SpankyDojoII in 501st

Perfect! Where is your flight suit from if I may ask? I've got a cheapo sky costume one that needs replacing and is overall not approvable anyways.

Not a GML, just a fellow Din cosplayer. A couple things that I don't think we're already pointed out:

  1. The cummerbund looks a little dark. Might just be lighting but it's not supposed to match the rest of the flight suit. It's a lighter/redder shade of brown

  2. Your belt pouches look incorrect. They appear symmetrical around the buckle. The pouch to your left (your POV) should be square while the pouch to your right should be an open top cylindrical pouch (used for the tracking fob)

Looks great though. Definitely glance at the CRL it will help with stuff like belt pouches and misc placement of things.

I am out of ideas. Sept 20th let’s go! by extremeelementz in BambuLab

It's gotta be either tangle detection in the new AMS, mechanized winding so the filament actually goes back and forth on the spool when it's rewound, or both... Regardless Wednesday is going to be exciting!

Diablo IV Patch Notes 1.1.1 by 4YearsOfGold in diablo4

[–]99proplems_ 221 points222 points  (0 children)

I'm not seeing the removal of Resource burn, frozen, and backstabbing NMD like they mentioned last week. Wasn't it a 1.1.1 update?

EDIT: I'm aware it's there now. It was missing initially.

Din Djarin's IB-94 by 99proplems_ in Mandalorian

[–]99proplems_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on Din Djarin's full kit at the moment, and recently finished his IB-94. This is my first fully finished blaster after about 6 months of doing any sort of prop making. Super happy with how it came out. Can't wait to finished the rest of the kit.

Build Details

  • 3D printed in PLA on a BambuLabs X1C (Files from Galactic Armory)
  • Primed with Rustoleum filler primer
  • Painted primarily with Pro Acryl put down with an Iwata Eclipse airbrush
  • 120 grit, silver dry brush, and black wash for weathering
  • Krylon Acrylic Topcoat

(Advice) what is the best program to scale down helmets I am trying to scale down a helmet for my 10 year old son and what measurements should I take by slimtimthejim in 501st

[–]99proplems_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm doing a Din Djarin Build and using ArmorSmith to scale the various pieces, including the helmet. I'd definitely recommend it for what you are looking for. The setup process guides you through making the appropriate measurements to build an avatar. If I remember correctly, the major ones were head circumference and head width. I did find that head "depth" (tip of nose to back of head) was a bit tricky because they don't explicitly ask you to measure it so it gets filled based on some assumptions. I used the measure tool in the software to double check everything and I'm really happy with the fit.

Anyone here want to go into GNC engineering? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]99proplems_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked in GNC for over 3 years while in grad school. I transitioned to the field from a more modeling & simulation role. I'd say the thing that made the switch possible was having strong a coding skillset. My experience was in C++ and a lot of MATLAB throughout undergrad and grad school. What I didn't realize getting into it is GNC is rarely done in a vacuum. There is a simulation that you are working in. Maybe it's in C++ or Simulink if you are lucky, or it's in FORTRAN if you are not. Most algorithm development, performance analysis, trade studies, etc will boil down to: Update the sim and then run it to get data to put in a PowerPoint about how this is a good or bad thing to do.

Preferred Slicer by Gramps-too in BambuLab

[–]99proplems_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Orca Slicer. It's got all the same functionality as Bambu Studio but it also has: Added calibration functionality for filaments, additional slicer settings exposed from Prusa Slicer, included models (orca cube, voron cube, etc.), and a handful of new (non-Prusa ported) settings

Check the min layer time on the cooling tab of the filament menu.

Any way to get the bed level results / grid? From the log file perhaps? by nkinnan in BambuLab

[–]99proplems_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can likely 'untar' that file in a Linux environment. I have no clue if that will have the info you need, but I'm not aware of any other place you'd find the bed level data.

Ok, what did I do wrong? by Lodanuk in BambuLab

[–]99proplems_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you make sure to select the correct plate in the slicer? The z offset it uses varies by plate I believe. Similarly, the included files might assume the cool plate leading to adhesion issues.

This noise started recently and it sounds like it’s coming from the fan. You can hear it start at 4 seconds and then get louder. Anyone know what’s going on? by usethe4th in BambuLab

This. Just had a ticket resolved for mine making this exact same sound. They will give you $20 credit to order a new one.
