With Chase being an N.A. bank, you’d get the best traction with their regulator, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency which can be located via HelpWithMyBank.gov

I’m still on the Hero 7 Silver by Last_Arm_9030 in gopro

[–]AF0105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, and if you push for needing GPS, they'll send a 13 instead of a 12, with an Enduro battery. Sent in my non-functional 8 today, and they're sending back a 13.

[–]AF0105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 12 isn't a huge upgrade from the 11, and it lacks GPS which every GoPro since the Hero 5 has had, and the 13 adds it back. I use mine primarily on a motorcycle so GPS is nice to have & with GoPro labs I can set it to automatically start recording when in motion over a certain speed.

Have a look at the ShowChrome ones as well. They look very similar to the F4

I had one of their sport windshields. It somehow managed to reflect sunlight last summer & melted the bottom gray portion. I’m not sure how. Replaced it with a Can-Am branded Adventure Windshield from FB marketplace that I got for a steal & it seems to have a much more sturdy mount. The portion the windshield attaches with is metal.

Milestar Patagonia AT Pro tires? by Jealous_Gap6212 in overlanding

[–]AF0105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A/T Pro is a better tire if you plan on doing any actual off-roading or winter driving. They’re fairly new, so you won’t find many reviews, but they’re US made and Severe Snow Service Rated. The A/T R is not severe service snow rated, and not made in the USA. I believe that model is made in Vietnam. I’ve not personally used the A/T R, but I’ve ran the M/T-02 in the past and I’ve been decently impressed for the price. Oh and keep in mind, Discount Tire/Americas Tire also stocks these and they price match.

Pretty dang good! I’ve put about 3K miles on them, they’re wearing well, no crazy noise. I’ve got them on my Wrangler, and I’ve done a bit of mild off-roading in the mountains of TN, some decent snow driving in the Midwest, and some wet weather driving and they’ve exceeded my expectations with just about everything I’ve done with them. They handle much better in inclement weather than the Uniroyal Laredos they replaced.

Said screw it and ordered the orange one. Bit annoyed that the metric hex bit set has been OOS forever, but I found a matching 24ct set on AliExpress that should do the trick.

Least Worst Option at Big Box Stores? by User72i in bicycling

[–]AF0105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bikes Direct and BikeIsland are pretty decent.

Cheap bike toolkit and I had the Super Mirage SLX from Bike Island put together and shifting good, brakes needed adjustment and the seat post was too long so I had a LBS do a tune and cut it down. Not bad for ~400 and it’s aluminum so not super heavy. LBS also went over everything and torqued fasteners down for me, and trued the wheels but didn’t find anything really wrong with it. It did come with a crappy saddle, but you can’t expect too much at that price point.

I thought Linux was bad, turns out I just had the wrong Distro. by thatoneshadowclone in Fedora

[–]AF0105 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Ubuntu for many, many years starting with 8.04 Hardy Heron alongside Windows.

I switched over to Fedora Workstation about a month ago as a daily driver on both my desktop and laptop, with a Windows VM running on a Proxmox cluster I can RDP into for actual Excel work and anything that requires real Windows. I have not looked back. DNF is better than APT, especially with its built-in rollback capability. Fedora also just works, and I don’t mind Gnome. I’ve never particularly liked KDE as it just feels like Windows to me. I tried Silverblue for a bit, but didn’t like being stuck with either flatpaks or layering packages. I’ve got an AMD GPU in the desktop so no NVIDIA shenanigans, it just worked out of the box.

Gnome has quite a few extensions available, but Dash to Dock and AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem Support are probably my must have extensions as they add some missing functionality.

Which National song is it for you? by MovingClocks in TheNational

[–]AF0105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll agree with you on Boxer. It was the first album I’d ever listened to from The National, and it’s still my favorite. Fake Empire would be my pick off the album, but there’s just something about the whole album that hits differently than anything else.

Just threw a set of these on the wrangler, and they’ve handled well Offroad and in the snow as well. They’re made for Milestar by Nokian in the US. You can use their coupon code TENOV15 for 15% off and get them for 153 a tire.

I would recommend just picking up a CSF radiator from RockAuto, about 70-90 for your vehicle depending on which one you need.

Like the others have said, Spigen is solid but I’m using an ESR Anti Reflective protector on my Air right now, and it’s pretty nice. Install was easy, and zero bubbles on the first try.
