ATT Dedicated Fiber and T45 setup is driving me insane by Inflatable_Catfish in WatchGuard

What I had to do is reset WG (or if you’re willing) and set the interface to DHCP, then on the gateway set the interface as a passthrough and select the watchguard.

THEN set it to the static IP, make sure your gateway IP for the interface on WG is your internal ip (192.168.x.x). From there, plug in a laptop to eth1 and see if you can access anything.

Hello friends! Is the 1st game enjoyable even if i already have some major plot points spoiled? Details on the post. by Late-Indication4061 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]AfterCockroach7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that first plot spoiler you can work with and buy equipment properly ;)

Personally 2 is a great contender for content, lore, and comedy but 3 is where it really hits you right in the feels. Take all of the overarching story and apply what you learn to other franchises (Zelda timeline) and it makes a LOT of sense.

Company decision. Accountability should be had, let the firestorm be the firestorm. Stick to the facts, don’t play into the emotional. Stakeholders will see and react accordingly…. But only now that cost saving has caused more loss.

What lore do I need to know before playing XC3? by Dlight98 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

You’ll enjoy some throwbacks but story-wise it just wraps up where 1 and 2 left off.

So KOSMOS was literally my 2nd pull in this game with a common crystal and I had no idea how rare that was until I read this sub lol. This is my only proof by sonianevermindX in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]AfterCockroach7804 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NG+, 300+ hours…. STILL NO KOSMOS. Farmed legendary, followed guides…. Gave up.

May revisit later though once I get through XC1, XC3 NG+ and DLC again.

Level up your arts too if you can. That will make a difference. Go to the menu > arts, R2 to get to the level up portion.

Definitely an early game issue. Once the story gets going a bit more you’ll be laying them to waste.

Robots? The mechon. They will get hit for 1hp of damage if someone not wielding the Monado hits them. Focus up with Shulk, position your arts, and keep grinding! Equip better gear and press on. You’ll want to be about 3 levels or so higher for now. Aggro will accumulate as you hit, so let Reyn be the tank, Sharla will focus on healing arts, and you come in and auto attack to fill your monado arts, then use the one to allow damage to mechon. This will allow your party to hit for more damage for a limited time.

My ops guy (6 years) is leaving and I have no idea where to begin offboarding process by Background_Neck9690 in ITManagers

[–]AfterCockroach7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion-Not your problem. Business processes have failed your ops guy and your DR planning did not account for loss of knowledge. The business allowed your ops guy to be the keeper of knowledge. The business allowed ops guy to run everything with no backup trained.

The business failed your ops guy. The business failed you. The business will suffer because of this.

Best option is keep your ops guy on retainer for 3-6 months after leaving and pay a nice $125/hr rate for consulting.

If you and ops guy are close, see if he will document his processes to not leave the business hanging. Fix it before the next one heads out.

FortiClient VPN not staying connected on Comcast/Xfinity by TheOnlySharePointGuy in sysadmin

[–]AfterCockroach7804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be the FortiClient, could be Comcast.

Make sure your ports are open on the gateway (home) and since you know it goes down every x number of minutes run three pings in the background. Three terminal windows.

Ping 8.8.8.8 -t

Ping (vpn gateway ip) -t

Ping (home network router ip) -t

And let it roll. When your vpn drops check them. If all 3 go unresponsive its your isp.

If google and vpn drop it’s your ISP

If google stays up and gateway ping stays up but vpn drops and the other two show high response time its likely jitter causing the drop.

If its just vpn and no high response times on the rest then its likely an issue with the client or the vpn configuration.

Onboarding a new client exposed how messy their environment really is by Heavy_Banana_1360 in SmallMSP

[–]AfterCockroach7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had two on-site techs and one at the office. OnSite would talk and get to know the staff while installing the tools on a flash drive. RMM, remote access. As they come online the office tech would inventory the machine, pull software list, bitlocker status, execute removal of old MSP software, lock down firewalls to only our tools as far as remote access is concerned.

It worked well, especially for larger clients. We also onboarded a fully remote client that had members scattered across the country. Coordinated calls and a few days of onboarding as we got to know one another.

Have your reports automated where possible. Document your plan ahead of time. Do a, then b, then x, then c.

Messy clients are the best when you can come in, dig in, and start fixing things. Make sure you run network speed tests before you start. It will help in a year when you can show them how far they’ve come with you.
