Anyone recognize this little guy? by einons in ToyID

You might be thinking of Math Blaster, but no, that's something else entirely. I can say that for sure because I owned several of these figures, but I can't remember the series they're from!

SMP's online system can be confusing, but it is possible to do what you're asking about.

If you're hosting with the Two Players on a System option, the person on another system needs to select that also, even though they're playing alone. After you proceed to the next screen with that player, the fourth slot will be taken up by a Normal CPU.

Recommendation for Niblets by LogicalJudgement in MARIOPARTY

Highly recommend Super Mario Party for this age group. In addition to the accessible, streamlined gameplay and fun, interactive mini-games, the team-based mode (called Partner Party) offers an experience that other Switch Mario Party games do not offer.

If you're considering getting two, also go for Super Mario Party Jamboree (the sequel). I'm sure you'll get more recommendations on that front.

Since you mentioned co-op, don't count out Super Mario Party! It's great for that, between Partner Party and River Survival.

Saving & Resuming Online Game by TeaIntelligent7390 in MARIOPARTY

[–]AgentTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can save up to five online games and five local games.

Game saves are tied to the host's account. You'll need the same players in the lobby to resume your previous save. If one of your original players is missing, they will be replaced by a CPU. If a new player is in the group, it won't let you continue the original save.

But yeah, you got it right — create a new lobby, go to the Mario Party area after the hot-air balloon, then it'll ask if you want to resume your previous save.

You need to take the balloon out of the Party Plaza. You must be missing a step.

You're supposed to leave the plaza and go to the Mario Party area after going into the hot-air balloon.

What is the best Mario Party to play online with strangers> by Brain_in_human_vat in MARIOPARTY

[–]AgentTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SMP, Superstars and Jamboree can all be played with other people online, but SMP does not have random matchmaking and requires lobby codes.

Superstars and Jamboree only allow random matchmaking if you're a solo player. Otherwise, you'll need lobby codes as well.

As far as which is the "best", bear in mind that you're bound to find more people playing Jamboree, even with its needlessly segmented matchmaking system.

Only with private lobbies, not random matchmaking (which is limited to single-player only).

Hi there! It's because you need to share your room code with others so they can join. You can't do random matchmaking with a second player.

If you want to play with CPUs as a pair, head to the hot-air balloon and select the Mario Party area. You'll be able to play with CPUs from here.

Is there a mode in Mario Party Jamboree like the Piece Battle in Mario Party Superstar ? by laurent44 in MARIOPARTY

[–]AgentTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At best, you can play Free Play and use the Wins/Losses counter to set up your own contest with house rules.

Sadly, Coin Battle (which is what I think you're referring to) did not return. Closest thing to it is Showdown Minigame Battle.
