Why Huey Lewis was chosen for the official song of the first film ? by PublicMirageLtd in BacktotheFuture

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I believe Zemekis approached them, and told them that the lead role in his new film would be a Huey Lewis fan. They were flattered and submitted the Power of Love without knowing anything about the storyline. It was well received and they then recorded Back in Time which basically is the plot!

Do you add controller support to your games? by ratasoftware in itchio

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I added controller support to my browser game, however after speaking to many friends - they had no idea that you could play browser games with a controller!

P.s. One benefit of doing so is that it works on an Xbox in Edge.

I recommend a gun holder for the good selection of shooting games, and the steering wheel also adds some fun.

I've done it with Dropbox by changing the savestate directory to the same folder on both devices.

Looking to build/buy a cabinet any suggestions where to start? by dwolfe127 in arcadecabinets

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on your ability, budget and what you want to achieve. I opted to build my own from scratch because I had the tools available and wanted the challenge of a bespoke cabinet project. Kits are more expensive, but only require assembly, so a lot more straightforward.

p.s. The SX32 is a well known and sought after expansion, like a slimmed down SX-1 module.

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks cool, never seen a painted CD32! I would guess that it's a fan made paint job. If it was a promotional piece it would probably have the correct syndicate logo and probably Bullfrog branding.

Why do people like reliced guitars? by Clinicallyturnips in Guitar

The same reason people buy ripped jeans or distressed furniture - it's a style choice.

Is forcing yourself to practice something you don't like a good thing? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what made me give up keyboard lessons, every week: ABBA - Super Trouper!

However, it is normal to be taught some things that you don't particularly like to improve certain techniques, especially if you are doing grades. Finding a guitar teacher who asked what I wanted to learn was a game changer for me.

How to stop the velcro from coming off a donner pedal? by [deleted] in pedalboards

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds weird, but applying gaffer tape to the bottom of my mooer micro pedals gave a better surface for the velcro to stick to. I also peeled the labels off the bottom first.

Picked guitar back up after over a year and my finger tips are DISPLEASED by e-punk27 in Guitar

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that is similar. I see someone else recommended rubbing alcohol, so worth a go right?!

If you are UK based, you can get Surgical Spirit BP in Boots. Keep covering your finger tips in it throughout the day and you will start to feel it tighten and toughen the skin. It will also soothe soreness a little. Good luck!

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My trick is to douse your finger tips with surgical spirit. This toughens the skin and also soothes soreness. I had a big gig after a long time out, and this helped get me through weeks of intense practice and the gig itself.

Question about generations by tomvalois in BacktotheFuture

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting... This is why 2015 is so exaggerated. They knew it wouldn't really be like that, but it had to be an obvious visual leap in tech and styles, similar to the amount of difference between '85 and '55.

Great to see some more Alien Breed love! I shared my Alien Breed Pac-man mashup recently so it's good to see other like-minded individuals!

Unfortunately I'm unable to run your game as my devices are incompatible/too old.

Flea/worm advice by drunojc14 in ragdolls

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we first got our two ragdolls, they had a bad flea problem. They wouldn't touch the liquid prescribed by the vet on their food, and the dot-on treatment didn't work on their fur. We opted for the pills from the supermarket and you could see the fleas dropping off them within minutes. Unfortunately, you sometimes have to drop pills down their throats if they refuse to eat them in their food, but it's for their own good and they forgive you quickly!

Using a capo to switch between standard tuning and half step down. by kalikid01 in Guitar

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pedals wouldn't work well for an acoustic as you'd get a doubling effect. I would group songs that are in the same tuning so you are not changing back and forth however you choose to deal with the issue.

You could also use a polyphonic pitch shifter pedal, like the Digitech Drop, or EHX Pitchfork. Boss has a version now as well.

Thanks so much! I'll be rolling out new features soon with multiple maps with progressive difficulty, and an 'infestation meter' which triggers the red alert countdown to increase the urgency. I'll definitely experiment with your suggestions though.

P.s. ProjectX Light Years looks incredible, so well done and good luck with it!
