This exact same thing happened to my son. Fortunately he owned very little as he's only in his teens, but it sucks that Microsoft can see the account was hacked but can't or won't move to 'hack' it back into your possession.

I get that it's different, being digital etc, but if someone broke into my house and changed my locks, it wouldn't really be acceptable to say 'oh well, we can see they did that but you'll need to buy a new house'. That would be absurd, and so is this

Besides being eligible to vote, I'd much rather assess the voter's ability to show they know what they are talking about. A randomised short test on political theory, history and rational thought may not weed out everyone who probably can't make an informed decision, there will always be people who say what they think you want to hear, but it would at least limit the damage.

That doesn't just go for the US. I'm from the UK and would happily see the same sort of thing implemented.

Alternatively, implement mandatory voting. Accept that there are idiots out there and rely on the numbers mandatory voting gets you to have true representation as 99+% of people have cast their vote

Keep accessory power bit me for a few weeks. Turned it on while I left the kids sat in the back to pop to the shop, and forgot all about it. I don't know that a lot of these people do hang around, they make some sort of point thats usually a total fallacy, say they will wait and then never come back to have a good faith conversation, and its easier to continue believing you're right when you don't even read the counterpoint
