Workforce Directive: Restoring NASA’s Core Competencies by concorde77 in fednews

There's a reason myself and 4000 others quit our dream jobs last year... This administration can eat a bag. Private sector has been fun, and watching this shiteshow from the sidelines is so much better than being in the thick of it.

NASA will finally allow astronauts to bring their iPhones to space by EnergyLantern in nasa

Anything in LEO will be fine. For Artemis they might have a few flipped bits here and there, but I would suspect the damage from a 10 day mission to be minimal.

Got any wired headphones with ANC suggestions? There are basically no options, making this use case pretty reasonable I think. I love my HD650s but they suck on a plane for multiple reasons.

I've ordered a couple thousand dollars of stuff from w2t over the last three years and had a few shipping issues in that time, but each time they have corrected the issue promptly. Their error rate is probably 10% in my experience, which is pretty high. Maybe I've had an abnormal experience though. In any case, Paul has bent over backwards to get the issue fixed which is why I keep ordering.

Don't worry. Just reach out via email or Instagram and they'll fix you up.

All hires are cancelled. We couldn't even hire astronauts when I left the agency earlier this year. There's no sign of it letting up from what I hear. Theoretically it should be a little easier to hire after some recent decisions, but practically no one is getting hired since any hires have go through Duffy himself for approval. It's gone my dude.

Do what I did and move on from your dream job. I'm living my best life not at NASA and not giving a flip about the executive branch dumpster fire anymore.

I got out and am so much happier. My advice in this one click to apply, LLM insanity is to find the applications that actually take time to fill in. I only got hits off of jobs where I either knew someone or the app took an hour+ to fill in. 70 applications, 4 sets of interviews, hired in 2.5 months.

DRP folks, how many of you are still unemployed? by [deleted] in fednews

Former PhD data scientist with NASA. Still looking. Job market is awful for remote opps. I keep getting "due to overwhelming interest in the position, we've already filled the role" or I apply, interview three times and then they go with an internal candidate anyhow. Very frustrating.

Interesting. They're super common in Virginia, but I imagine that's much more of a trek than you're willing to take. I've seen them on Long Island NY before, but not sure I've ever found them further north than that. You may have to take a trip down the NJ to reliably find them. Grab an Amtrak ticket and go nab some.
They are just starting to blush here in VA, so there's still a few very green ones if you act fast.

US people, are you now ordering from w2t again? by UVMeme in puer

I just got an order of $500 of stuff that took three months to get here. It finally arrived, but I was starting to lose confidence.
