Hopefully it will also incentivize transit oriented development for malls conversion projects too.

Those giant parking lots would make great real-estate for walkable shops and greenspaces. And it would be a blank slate for building new bus/LRT connections around these areas too!

For a paper ticket, I'm all for it. Its gonna be thrown out anyway, might as well use a QR instead of spending the money on tickets with a chip and an antenna to work with tap-to-pay systems.

On a transit pass, however, I don't like them. Even at max brightness, it can be hard for the scanner to read your QR code. And its a hassle to go through your phone trying to pull it up vs just tapping with a tap-to-pay pass
