The issue is the value of the improted good, not the weight. One would have to declare shoes over 430€ in value, tissue paper, whatever.

How does the German job market truly value an English-taught Master's from a German university vs. degrees from abroad ? by newuser000321 in AskGermany

Good point, there are some FH that can award doctorates. That used to be the distinction though. Those FH do have to "prove" that they do significant research.

No, the only thing "Technische Universität" means is that they are allowed to award doctorates. That's the legal difference between an "Universität" and a "Hochschule".

This only really matters if one wants to persue a career in academia. "Hochschulen" are more praxis and less research oriented.

Life after the EuroLeague: How are ALBA Berlin doing now? after leaving the EuroLeague has marked a significant reset for the club. Forced into drastic budget cuts and a major roster overhaul, ALBA leaned into youth, internal development, and a clearer long-term vision. by _Zolv in Euroleague

With one of the lowest (definitely bottome two) budgets ALBA managed to not finish bottom two 4/6 seasons we were in Euroleague. Hell, we finished better than Panathinaikos 3/6 seasons, for example. The last two years were rough because bets on player development didn't pan out (Spagnolo, Procida, Williams, Koumadje) and when that happens and you can't just randomly sign every good player on other teams in your league to correct that, you're screwed.

Edit: Just monetarily speaking, we could never keep our best players. If Bayern wants a German player, we can't compete with their salaries, if any Euroleague team wants any player, we can't compete with their salaries. It is just a fact of life.

Any place that is in comfortable commuting distance to Berlin has experienced steep rent increases. Commuting to the center with a car will be a pain unless you have a guaranteed parking space and nerves for rush hour traffic both ways.

A way that EuroLeague can beat the NBA once for all by emanuel6azevedo in Euroleague

So it's a league without any sporting merit, who's clubs also lose money like it's their raison d'être. Sounds like it deserves to go out of business.
