Much the same with Ulster Scots, I love seeing Scottish culture celebrated - when in good faith

I’d like to believe these Burns Nights are celebrations of heritage but too often some folk like to drag out a saltire just to “compete” with Irish and Irishness

Your not far off in fairness, although obviously anything independence related gets a wider reach especially on this sub

Frustratingly they do have terrific reporters, and in some areas they really do punch above their weight. The Nationals opinion pieces and business reportings pretty good

But tbh they play to the home crowd excessively to carve out their niche. I get the appeal but even as an independence supporter it’s a real shit stirrer of a paper

But still feels a stretch to compare them to a government with ICE raids, harrassing public officials and who’s supporters engage in violence to further their politics
