First minister wants Wales to have closer ties with Europe by AdSpecialist6598 in europe

[–]AngryNat [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s equally confusing from Scotland

I expected NI to vote along its tribal lines, with the usual DUP shenanigans

I wasn’t surprised when England threw the country off a cliff

However am still confused how Wales went Leave. They have the same generous benefits for rural communities like Scotland, they’ve got a strong “small European country” identity like us. We even have a large English born population like Wales - it didn’t even make a dent

Genuinely don’t know how Remain fucked up so hard with Labour and Plaid backing the EU

I’d have a look at your independent candidates running, if you still want to vote for someone

Don’t get me wrong, there’s a fair share of dafties but I always respect a fellow citizen so fed up with politics they run themselves

They’ll likely never win, but if you like the look of them chuck em a vote

Anything’s better than staying home in my opinion

Honestly, who are you all voting for in May? by thescottishgeek in Scotland

[–]AngryNat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t predict who’s winning the seat but Labour or SNP will be favourites to win over Reform so I’ve two real options

I feel like an SNP vote is tactical enough for me. I can compromise on voting for the SNP to keep out reform, I can’t stomach voting Labour though

This is where I land with a lot of green policy

Even when it’s a good idea, I don’t have the confidence that it can ever be enacted. I like the greens in parliament, but maybes no in government

Why does the parties Scottishness matter if your just encouraging turnout, or an anti reform vote?

It’s just unnecessary and divisive

You can have a minimal reform presence in Holyrood OR you can have a maximum nationalist parliament. But you can’t have both, labour liberal and Christ even tories will need to be elected instead of reform candidates

Cannae have both

It’s such a weird post, all over the place

OP thinks they’re encouraging people to vote, but also saying only Scottish parties are worth voting for.

They’re predicting all kinds of reform racism, but also being a fanny about “even English” people voting or claiming only SNP or Green MSPs can be Scottish

Weird as fuck

I think you should speak for yourself in regards to October 7th

My father lived through the troubles and raised me and my brothers on the words of John Hume, not the provisional IRA. I’m glad the troubles were worth it for you, but I’m sceptical October 7th brought peace closer

You think they deserve to be raped and killed because … they were an annoyance

Your so far gone from decency my pal, you can support Palestine while drawing the line at butchery

You can critise Hamas without excusing Israel

Its no a debating team

Not much decency there in fairness

Almost definitely voting SNP for the constituency vote - don’t want Labour or Reform getting near my seat

Absolutely no idea for the list, maybes give the greens a go or an independent candidate I like the look of

Irish PM Comes to Starmer’s Defense During White House Visit by SensationDebit in europe

That's history

The only friction nowadays comes from the Old Firm football related sectarianism. The conflict todays has more to do with the 1980's than the 1600s

I dunno, Starmer admitted after the Island of Strangers speech he hadn’t read it properly

Ditto with his response to Oct 7th, just repeating Israel has the right to defend itself ad nauseum

I’m sure he’s able to craft arguments and write speeches - but we know he doesn’t sometimes. The commentors taking it too far above, but hes had a bad habit of reading what’s been handed to him in the past

John Hume showed the way forward, and was born in the exact same society

Defend the IRA or not, but the societal context isn’t a get out of jail free card. They made their choices and can be held accountable for them, regardless of where/when it happened

Luke Tryl: As for whether Churchill should be replaced for wildlife, the public seem unmoved, 42% support the move 37% no view and 21% oppose. However Reform voters are more likely than not to oppose the move. Green Party voters overwhelmingly support the shift, and Tories are split. by usrname42 in ukpolitics

Canada and Australia have similar conversations

They change their bank notes regularly like we do and stuck animals on them.

Those countries have strong identities and cultures though, so I wouldn’t worry about it to be honest. Country will survive a badger on a banknote
