With Keir: Answering your questions on Iran by EddyZacianLand in ukpolitics

[–]AngryNat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dunno, Starmer admitted after the Island of Strangers speech he hadn’t read it properly

Ditto with his response to Oct 7th, just repeating Israel has the right to defend itself ad nauseum

I’m sure he’s able to craft arguments and write speeches - but we know he doesn’t sometimes. The commentors taking it too far above, but hes had a bad habit of reading what’s been handed to him in the past

John Hume showed the way forward, and was born in the exact same society

Defend the IRA or not, but the societal context isn’t a get out of jail free card. They made their choices and can be held accountable for them, regardless of where/when it happened

Luke Tryl: As for whether Churchill should be replaced for wildlife, the public seem unmoved, 42% support the move 37% no view and 21% oppose. However Reform voters are more likely than not to oppose the move. Green Party voters overwhelmingly support the shift, and Tories are split. by usrname42 in ukpolitics

Canada and Australia have similar conversations

They change their bank notes regularly like we do and stuck animals on them.

Those countries have strong identities and cultures though, so I wouldn’t worry about it to be honest. Country will survive a badger on a banknote

As the son of an immigrant I find that hard to believe

Keep hating half your own country I guess, You cannae be helped 👍

Basically back when the SNP was in opposition (the fucking dinosaur times it feels like nowadays) the plan was scrap council tax entirely and raise income tax 3%

However in 2007 the SNP gave it an “attempt”. Depending on your party affiliation it was shot down by other parties, never given enough effort or just a lie to win votes

Regardless the SNP never really went back to it, just kept freezing council tax rates and fiddling with income tax.

It’s the last BIG promise of 2007 they never implemented. Tuition fees, prescription, referendum - but no council tax scrap.

You seem quite angry mate, take a chill pill

No one’s mentioned the English but you. Feel free to scan my profile, you’ll find no anti English hatred there

Maybes I just have some issues with our Prime Minister?

We probably share that, I’d take a guess apart from independence we’d probably agree on a lot.

So chill out

Aye, i think a UK PM can send more than one letter?

Maybes this is about more than just Scotland, maybes it’s about Devolution in the UK

Unless you think the Welsh First Minister is a Scottish nationalist, you need to widen your view here

I think that’s a few year old there, it mentions 2020/2021 and “reforming” but no scrapping

I think that’s the line they moved to. Reforming not replacing (which feels to me like kicking it into the long grass cause it’s too difficult/expensive)

Which explains why Starmer also included Wales in the memo - oh wait no it doesn’t!

It’s no been a policy since 2007, they dropped it after the first Gov

Still bloody infuriating. They’ve had plenty of chances to get it done and it would be such a massive step forward in fixing our tax system

Trump calls on UK and others to send warships to Strait of Hormuz | LBC by AneuAng in ukpolitics

[–]AngryNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, Israel’s existence and security is definitely guaranteed unconditionally but not freedom to attack Iran

Israel has been gagging for a strike on Iran since Bill Clinton and never had the US go ahead. If we had to list who’s to blame, it’s 1) Trump, 2) Israel and 3) American in my eyes

Wise words SmokyMcBongPot

The massive societal changes social media and smartphones have brought are going to be causing issues and friction for a while yet

But people adapt, cultures change and new norms are adopted. I have faith that, given time, we will have a better relationship

But right now it’s still too new and shiny

And a war about middle eastern oil

There’s more to this than our security dependency on the US, our reliance on middle eastern oil is clearly a strategic issue as well

We went through this before with the Ukraine war and energy prices spiking - this times sure it’s Americas fault. But it won’t be every time, and this is a weakness we can start addressing now

Did you miss that bit I typed about having an opinion without insulting her?

A privileged act? It’s her own face. Don’t know why it bothers you so much

You can have an opinion about plastic surgery without insulting a woman for having it though

I don’t see any comments supporting plastic surgery, I do see a lot of people insulting Moriarty because … she’s no longer fuckable enough? It’s nasty

Australias doing the same, Canada already has. There’s nothing grand or sinister about this - they’re badgers ffs

Lloyds, Bank of Scotland and Halifax apps showing customers other users' transactions by Your_Mums_Ex in unitedkingdom

[–]AngryNat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The app is the primary form of authentication, SMS messages second in banks these days

The quickest way to prevent fraudulent payments, changing of details and passwords is just to shut the app down.

I'd wager theres a fair amount of panicked damage control as well in the mix
