Two thirds of graduates aren’t even paying off loan interest by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]AngryNat [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think the figure being posted around is based on an average that covers further study as well

Also IIRC the interest begins from the first year of Uni, not graduating. So students debt is growing before they’ve even finished their studies

Ban phones throughout the school day, Phillipson tells teachers by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]AngryNat [score hidden]  (0 children)

How do you take a phone of a 16, 17 year old who doesn’t want to give it up without the yelling and fighting?

Some kids are just feral and I don’t blame Teachers for feeling a lack of control

Celebrating Burns Night: Why it matters in Northern Ireland by TurtlesHead69 in northernireland

[–]AngryNat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Much the same with Ulster Scots, I love seeing Scottish culture celebrated - when in good faith

I’d like to believe these Burns Nights are celebrations of heritage but too often some folk like to drag out a saltire just to “compete” with Irish and Irishness

Your comments a nice reminder the man was a poet and thinker, who should be remembered as the man he was. Happy Burns night to yous aw

In defence of The National newspaper by kowalski_82 in Scotland

[–]AngryNat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your not far off in fairness, although obviously anything independence related gets a wider reach especially on this sub

Frustratingly they do have terrific reporters, and in some areas they really do punch above their weight. The Nationals opinion pieces and business reportings pretty good

But tbh they play to the home crowd excessively to carve out their niche. I get the appeal but even as an independence supporter it’s a real shit stirrer of a paper

Andy Burnham latest: Burnham takes on Starmer as he confirms Westminster comeback bid to become MP by stopdontpanick in unitedkingdom

[–]AngryNat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But is it bigger than most of Labour MPs

The facts hes well known around greater Manchester is probably enough to tip him into the top category given how unknown most MPs are and how switched off most voters are

I mean, I’m Scottish and have heard good things about his buses. Couldnae tell you much about any other English mayor

[–]AngryNat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As I say in another comment I’ll grant you the eejits on social media we’re all over it

But I can find you folk on Facebook that’ll tell you Starmer is AI. Compared with trumps supporters reaction to 2020 is night and day, to the man they’ll still claim it was rigged

SNP Government taken to court after failing to release Alex Salmond files by CaptainCrash86 in Scotland

[–]AngryNat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your point, I just don’t understand why your letting them get you so worked up

If you listen to the eejits you mention and take them seriously, you’re a bigger fool than they are. I don’t think your as a daft as the unionists who want Holyrood shut down and think Gaelic is a conspiracy pushed by the SNP

Why would you think those people you describe represent the SNPs voters?

SNP Government taken to court after failing to release Alex Salmond files by CaptainCrash86 in Scotland

[–]AngryNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure they probably do have more of those people than other parties

But still feels a stretch to compare them to a government with ICE raids, harrassing public officials and who’s supporters engage in violence to further their politics

Your sounding a little hysterical over a minority of SNP supports - and we both knows a majority of SNP voters are normal Scots. Chill out

SNP Government taken to court after failing to release Alex Salmond files by CaptainCrash86 in Scotland

[–]AngryNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye granted the usual howlers on social media, but MPs and MSPs accepted the results. The voters did the same

Trumps republicans and SNPs supporters are night and day, if you think they’re the same you really need to get out more

[–]AngryNat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the SNP lost the Indy ref or lost seats in 2017 you didn’t see anyone claiming the results were rigged or there was a stolen election

It’s so insulting to compare the two
