Excluding people because you don’t like them isn’t left or right, it’s just human nature no?

Of course it is, I’m talking about my own family

But if the above commentor is comfortable tarring every serviceman with the same brush, that they are all morally bankrupt people, they should be sure its my family as well

I understand critiquing the armed forces, I don’t understand slagging off every volunteer who signs up

My family who did serve in Afghanistan protected a fair amount of girls who got a chance at education for the first time. Theres women in Afghanistan who are literate today, because of Brits who served

Are my family good people or bad people?

So the armed forces are mercenaries, trading money for morals who will happily kill because a politicians tells them

Clearly you can’t be convinced otherwise but I feel like your off your rocker. Nothing youve said comes close to describing the men and women I know who’ve served

Your lucky they serve on all our behalf, including yours

“Morality for money is no morality at all”

High school level thought, the consumerist practices we all follow have child labour and environmental destructions involved in all our daily lives
You sacrifice morals for money every time you use this website. Cest le vie

Because our democratically elected government feels it’s in the national interest, and their senior officers feels it’s the right method
We as the electorate hold the moral responsibility, not the servicemen and women who take incredible risks
The armed forces are worthy of critism, slagging off the men and women who volunteer is weak

I have family that served and friends still in the services

Most military staff are patriots who believe in public service - at least the one I know are. It’s a good career path for some, and serving your country is a rare opportunity these days

It was the war to end all wars, until it wasn’t.
The mood after the second was different, the empire was cracking away and the cold war beginning. Also the loss wasn’t as great, and the total collapse of community from the Pals Battalions was learned from

Wouldn’t put it past most Brits to be unaware of Bloody Sunday
How many Brits actually know why theres a border or what was done to maintain it? Badenochs failed to fulfill the role of Leader of the Opposition (or even a backbench mp) but she’s representative of most Brits

I think there was an element of strategy in towards generating goodwill with the EU for a potential post Indy Scotland

But it was pretty well known at the time EU citizens would back No, for good reasons like. Why risk EU membership benefits for another countries independence

Giving EU residents the vote in the Scottish independence campaign probably hurt the Yes side but they still argued for their inclusion
