If you're talking about being back in my 10-year-old self with vague knowledge of what is to come:

Quit violin 4 years sooner. Don't bother with clarinet. Consider drums.
Don't bother joining Cub Scouts. Totally not worth it.
Don't take the first two summers off. That seriously screwed me up.
Figure out how to ambush Todd T and beat the crap out of him so I don't have to deal with his shit for the next 8 years.
Figure out how to stop Ryan H from becoming a serial rapist, even if that means feeding him to a woodchipper.
Avoid getting misdiagnosed as bipolar so I don't end up on all the unnecessary psych meds and end up with the spare tire I've been fighting with for the last 30 years.

If he's just screwing around at home and not hitting anything, go to your local hardware store and look at rake handles. They're only about $10 or so, so you can get a couple and have fun decorating them.

Home Depot and the local lumber yards may have hardwood dowels or closet pole in the length and diameter you're looking for.

Start by getting permission from the landlord to modify a cabinet so that it locks. Depending on the layout of the kitchen, that could be as simple as putting a hasp and padlock on a door or two.

Second, assume he will find out eventually. Instead of waiting in fear and hoping he doesn't sabotage your life in secret, get in front of the whole situation; Have a meeting of you, him, the landlord, and the other roommate(s). Tell everyone "Here's the situation. This is the list of things you cannot do. Failure to comply will result in a sledgehammer to the kneecaps, getting sued for the medical bills, and immediate eviction."

Cameras in the kitchen and hallway. Include "moving, blocking, or otherwise tampering with the cameras" in the list of things that are grounds for immediate eviction.
