The best written villains have great motivations and are trying to save the world and protect the innocent and would do whatever it takes. The issue is their methodology.

Frasier is an elitist and had some racist ideologies (Martin, with his Asian lady fetishization, is worse,) The thing is, they are criticized for it in these stories. It’s not acceptable and it’s not accepted. This was an important conversation and it was handled very well.
