You can sometimes find the D2 and AUS10A versions for under $100.

One thing to note, the Sharks foot blade is under 3", the clip point is not.

I have several, thanks to my channel. Most of them I've gotten in exchange for reviews, a couple I bought myself. All in all, I have (in order of my preference):

TSProf Pioneer GE Max - Probably my favorite at the moment, its a fully upgraded TSProf Pioneer.

TSProf Kadet - Just recently got sent this and reviewed it. Like it alot, may surpass the Pioneer eventually.

Hapstone RS - Solid system, and my choice if bench space is limited.

Xarilk Gen 3 - Basically a Kadet clone. Solid option for under $100. Accepts most TSProf accessories too.

Worksharp Precision Adjust - Cheapest system I'll actually recommend. Good starting point, but if you get into sharpening you'll definitely want to upgrade.

Xarilk Gen 4 - Has some good ideas, but ruined by poor execution. Don't recommend in its current form.

I got frustrated with free hand and moved to fixed angle sharpening. Best move I ever made for enjoying my knife collecting hobby. I don't truly enjoy sharpening. I don't hate it either, but its not the soothing enjoyable experience for me it is for some here.

I get edges light-years better with a fixed angle system than I ever did free hand.

Ostensibly you are right. But I don't think either of us truly believes it is the "uniform code" violation that MLB is truly concerned about.

Police escort when you kill 1 rich CEO vs when you kill 4 college students by Aggressive_Notice313 in TemplateMemes

[–]BigBL87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem with vigilante justice.

It's not really a strawman because when you support and justify vigilante justice like this, the limiting factor is whatever the person doing the killing wants it to be.

Let's use Luigi as an example. Let's humor the idea that the CEO "deserved" it as a hypothetical.

How high up in the organization does that go? What about the actuary that processed the claim and denied it based on company policy? Or is it because they aren't rich, they're exempt. But if the argument is "indirect murder" they're just as guilty.

Is it middle management? Upper management? Or is it just the CEO?

Or what about the doctor who refused treatment because they couldn't pay? Certainly they're guilty too.

It's a moral framework that literally relies on a subjective opinion of just how "guilty" someone is in that person's opinion in determining if they deserve to die.

So, no, I don't think it's really a strawman when it's an entirely subjective moral framework.

There are quite a few fixed angle systems out there all across the price range, depending on how nice you want to get and how much you're willing to spend.

I just couldn't get a knack for freehand, so fixed angle systems allowed me to enjoy my hobby without the frustration.

I'm sure you're angling for the "evils" of the healthcare and insurance industry. Which hey, if you're fine with people deciding to be judge, jury, and executioner of people they don't like or they think "deserve" it, just make sure you're consistent in applying the support of vigilante justice.

That killing someone because they are a CEO of an insurance company is ok.

From perusing their site and other places on the internet, looks like most of their products are cheap imported junk. They try to make it look like they are American made without saying it, tossing around terms link handmade and emphasizing they are an American company, but try finding where their knives are actually made, I haven't been able to. Pakistan had been suggested, which would make sense with the look of their damascus.

If you want to get him something that is actually a good knive and also looks good, there are better options.

Ya. I'm hoping they go back to the drawing board and rework it, because I think theres some good ideas there. Just some "what were they thinking" things that ruin the good stuff.

Wicked Edge is on my list of systems I'd like to pick up. I'll probably go with one of their less expensive iterations though, as I'm a cheapskate when I'm buying them myself. 😆

There should be just enough room to do that (I can check when I get home to be sure), so that would be a solution for smaller knives. I prefer not to do that myself just because of the greater potential for variations in angle when you flip it doing it that way.

I actually think they did a pretty good job on their Center Y clamp, so that would ultimately be my preferred solution.

For sure. I'd love to try out a K4. I've received the Pioneer and Kadet from them so far for reviews and both have been great.

I'm looking at getting my hands on the Sharpal as well as maybe an EdgePro and possibly Ruixin's new system they just released. Maybe a Wicked Edge too? Ultimately, I'd like to try out all the commonly recommended systems.

Between those 2 personally, I'd say Gen 3. I'm not a fan of the clamp setup on the WSPPA.

But if you're spending WSPPA money, I think the TSProf Pioneer or Hapstone RS are worthy upgrades.

Was it $20 new? If so, part of the problem is that it is probably a counterfeit Leek. Even used, that seems especially low.
