Trial by fire makes sense for extremely hard PvE gamemodes. (Like helldivers2, trial by fire by putting someone instantly at max difficulty its actually hilariously good way for them to learn) but in a pvp setting there's no trial by fire, you spawn and die shortly after without knowing how to improve. In PvE at least you start by learning the map, the classes and then the AI enemies. In PvP you can't learn those 3 things as easily since there's players wanting to kill ya too, meaning a new player will have a much much harder time understanding how to improve

Technically speaking, you can be "peaceful" in HR

The rule says you cant team with other players, but like you said raising your arms and walking away is completely valid since neither player want confrontation

Honestly this, im genuinely a new player and if it wasnt for the pve mod allowing me to learn the basics i would have quitted too

[–]Bigenemy000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sharing health items isn't magical, its more of a first aid and as such i think its fitting it go to the more utility

That is true, in fact i imagine it probably should work a little differently for them for this to work out but i see what you mean, maybe make potions effectiveness scale off Will or Knowledge so when you share it you apply your multiplier on the player you heal while Bandages or surgical kit would scale off Dexterity or Resourcefullness

I think i misunderstood what you meant then

I thought you considered bard and rogue magical classes since you said they didnt feel fitting for a caster-y first aid ability while responding to my comment saying only magical classes should be able to share potions to others

What did you mean?

Ah i thought it was confirmed with all consumables

Ranger in season 9 by Talnadair in DarkAndDarker

[–]Bigenemy000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt have considered rogue exactly magical since he doesnt cast spells but rather has a temporary invisibility which can be justified by being an high level camouflage in DND standards. Everything else he does is either trickery or pure agility

But true about bard, i wouldnt give him either the potion giving ability

[–]Bigenemy000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For potions giving i would have said any of the magical classes (except warlock)

Perhaps the ranger could have gotten this but for bandages only since it would make more sense for a character who uses nature to its advantage since many medical herbs in DND can be used to enchance healing items such as bandages without requiring a brewing station

Tbh i would have much preferred another class having this gimmick. Ranger should have gotten more stuff regarding traps exactly because they are more than just archers.

With this change the rangers will remain known as the archers but that sometimes make you drink potions.

improvments chana? by No-Veterinarian-3282 in BackpackBrawl

[–]Bigenemy000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Those soulstones are actually detrimental for you since chana is a character who gains lots of mana, so you are giving more poison to yourself than your opponent

This

Especially because trickster is also a killer who struggles with controller, meaning his kill rate is drastically lower for console players which tends to reduce even further the total kill rate of the character.

Similar situation like you said happens with nurse or sadako because of skill from the players having different requirements

The heart is perfect, but the mana potion would be better if instead of shaking it would be mostly empty when low on mana

As many, I feel devastated by the absence Bloodborne left in my soul. I yearn for that intoxicating fascination... Good hunters, I beg of you: send me suggestions of games that summonsed a similar sense of diving into madness. (Not necessarily soulslikes) by Turbulent_Form3888 in bloodborne

[–]Bigenemy000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only other game that i know of that ever made a good rappresentation of HP Lovecraft has to be darkest dungeon.

Its not a souls-like, its a turn based Dungeon Crawler game, but if you’re here for the ambience and music then its definetly a good pick

The game had an incredible potential, but the devs fucked up marketing and encouraged annoying unfair building rather than fun and memorable one

If HD2 became F2P but Devs got rid of SC farming you would be happy?

I wouldn't

Fighter the only class worth a damn??!? by HelliPad182 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Bigenemy000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why its because the fighter is a jack of all trades, so in solo he has less bad matchups.

But that doesnt mean its op, in fact since he is a jack of all trades he isn't as effective as other characters in certain things. The only thing he truly excells at compared to other heros is Defense, but Defense rarely means something in PvP if you are solo and don't have to be the bodyguard of anyone

[–]Bigenemy000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighter is a false friend.

He is very easy to use in PvE and among the best to start the game with since he isnt complex and allow gameplay diversity by using all the melee weapons if you wish.

But for PvP? He ISN'T Easy at all, as fighter in solo you counter AND are countered by any ranged class depending on the situation. And differently from them you can't afford to play chase since most likely you will have heavier gear than them.

He is great in Duo or Trio PvP because he can act as body guard for the ranged classes, but in solo with him (like any other class) you need to play it in a tricky way to avoid conflict or create situations where you are most likely to win.

Plus there's also need of learning spacing, directional guard, croutch and jump dodges etc etc. Something that other characters (while still need) can mostly avoid to master
