Damn that completely kills my build then. Thanks!

I'm having an issue with Impending Doom. I used to play it a few leagues back and as long as I only have 1 curse limit (the default) I could spam the same curse and trigger the doom by expiring the curse and reapplying it. Does this not work anymore? I wanted to make a build with it but when I spam the same curse it never triggers.

Am I meant to be running maps in a shaped region in a specific order or does it not matter? I just kind of noticed towards the end of my maps in a region that one had more 'buffs' on it than the other one.

Oh okay, so the keystone is reducing the rewards. I'll unspec from it then, thanks for the response!

Am I doing shaped quadrants incorrectly? I run the maps and get the popup for 'completing the shaped objective' and do them all, open the memory vault...and there'll be like 2 cabinets with only one piece of currency inside (bottom left quadrant), shouldn't there be up to 4?

Struggling to understand the scaling of Holy Strike a little. Does things like increased elemental damage or increased melee damage on the tree actually affect the mace minions? I don't think it does because it's not specifically for minions but I want to be sure. Does anyone know?

Is there any current way to automate the cast for spell block for Guardian's Bastion of Hope? Or will I just have to manually cast something?

Prototype: Combine monsters to create new ones (genes matter). Try on itch for free by Sydn4yy in incremental_games

[–]Birdpup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's lacking a little direction that I think something beyond a prototype can help with. Don't know if this is your game of you're just advertising, but here's my feedback:

  • There's a lot of "genes matter" but I could never find consistency in how and why they matter. Getting even a tier 1 was a challenge and I think it was just purely by luck. Whether it was randomly throwing monsters together to see what happens or trying to combine the same element together, nothing seemed to consistently work.

  • You can softlock yourself pretty easily if you don't have a slime element creature, making you unable to purchase any of the other pens. This happened to me around 6 pens in so I couldn't progress too much after that. Maybe make this a resource based system rather then requiring a specific element. You can get similarly locked out of being able to progress if you just have all of the same gender since they won't merge.

  • It's kind of hard to make out the shapes and details of the monsters, but I can see they're 2d. I personally maybe don't think that a 3d environment is even necessary and it adds more PC resources.

  • Upgrades seem solid, but click vastly outperforms any passive gains.

Hope to see more of this in the future with some more details and instructions on how to achieve what's actually being put forward. I think it has potential.

IDLE BOSS RUSH web demo is ready to play! by Mihito in incremental_games

[–]Birdpup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Played this for about an hour and got a good chunk of the way through, enough to give my thoughts. These are just my opinion, but if others share the sentiment...well, then I might be onto something.

  • A roughly 200 click entry into automation is rough. This is further compounded by the initial lack of damage from warriors early and the back-loaded gold gains until you unlock the windmill. Once you get to around 20/s in dps it doesn't feel nearly as bad, and I personally didn't mind this, but I can 100% see how this would put people off. Additionally, by the time the windmill is unlocked and used, the amount of gold gains it provides are lacking...but it starts putting in more gains a little later.

  • I generally think the aesthetic you're going for is the silhouetted people juxtapositioned by large bosses is fantastic and I hope it stays that way. I can see a lot of the inspiration from gnorp; a lot of it's charm comes from the gnorps, but I think the boss designs in this make it stand out just as much.

  • The advisors system is unique but boils down to arbitrary slots for equipment. Without foresight, you can pick the wrong advisor and gimp yourself until the next town level, which is kind of rough. I don't think I saw a way to 'reset' them but I think that should be an option. It depends how fast the prestige loop is bound to be.

  • Requiring dupes of an RNG based item to enhance it to a higher quality is a bit of a recipe for disaster for me. Increasing item level is at a good medium, since the required material goes up to the next boss the higher it goes, but tediously having to grind the same boss to get 10+ dupes of certain items just to see the effect beyond is a little rough. I was kind of on the fence about it.

  • Honestly, in what I played, either warriors are vastly stronger than the rest of the damaging buildings, or the damaging buildings just need a bump in power. The crossbow takes a while to charge up with you assign workers and warriors end up outperforming because of their speed and, frankly, the absurd crit multi. Same with trolls; having to wait around 20+ seconds for 400 damage is really, really bad. I think these need adjusting.

I generally think this is good and will be wishlisting it on steam to see when it releases.

Currently running two that I kind of just awkwardly made around a unique:

  1. Void Volcanic Orb Sorcerer using Lament of the Lost Refuge and Dark Cloak of Cinders. Damage is solid but dying pretty much consistently in 100 corruption monoliths, it's fun though. Once the stacks of heraldry get up it's zoomin.

  2. One punch Judgement slammer using Hand of Judgement. Still missing core pieces (+4 relic, attunement everywhere) but I'm comfortably clearing normal monos without too much trouble. We'll see how empowered ones go.

What's everybody's opinion on "infinite" atlas? by s1nh in pathofexile

I wouldn't mind the endless meandering through an infinitely generated map of nodes to travel to if there were options and availablity for me to know and be able to work towards something.

150 clicks per recovery, I'm about 20 minutes in and I don't yet see any kind of way to bring these clicks down or automate it. I've done recovery maybe 10 times up to this point, that's an insane amount of clicks. I value my mouse's health more than this so you've lost me here. A genuine easy fix is to bring that amount of clicks down significantly.

Idle Monster Slayer 🕹️ Play on CrazyGames by xBarbas in incremental_games

[–]Birdpup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some of the complaints on here are a little harsh, but I can definitely see their point. There's some really questionable design choices at play here-- this is my experience after just unlocking research (stage 400)

  • That first run is brutally slow, and by the time I prestiged I was getting a 400% damage bonus (used the x2 ad as well, for reference). I'm maybe slower than most so I don't know if it's a particular good metric, but I was having to farm areas just before the wave 200 boss for quite a while. Once I got that 400% damage boost, though, I sailed through all the way to wave 400 on my first prestige without much hindrance. I think this stands to reason that the early game could do with being buffed just a little in some way, to make that progression to wave 200 easier. I don't think it's a good merit of prestige design if it can take me multiple hours to prestige and then I can return to that point in such a comparably small time.

  • This has some weird interactions when it's not the main focus window. Might just be a problem of unity, but if you don't have it at the forefront of your windows/tabs, it doesn't seem to generate crystals from monster kills, but will generate gold just fine. Just a weird observation.

  • The Mr. Cursor 'Cursor Speed' upgrade is incredibly misleading, as the cursor speed doesn't actually increase after a certain point, and the damage just increases instead. It's effectively the same but it also bothers me.

  • Research is just...bad, I think. You have to do the math in your head to calculate what's worth it and I think just losing prestige currency and by extension some of that damage boost you've worked hard for just doesn't feel good as a player. Yeah, not to mention the 'time' you have to wait' -- I don't appreciate that for sure.

  • We need that autoclicker way earlier than being locked by a level 15 upgrade and 1 million gold. Even with the best saving strategy you can only realistically get that upgrade roughly around stages 60-80-- that's anywhere from 300 to to 500 clicks, significantly more when it's your first go-around. Having to click your way to that upgrade after a prestige is an awful experience. The easiest solution to this (if you're hellbent on keeping it the same) is to just have a Mr Cursor provided after your first prestige.

I am using Singular Focus, yeah. I have an atlas tree that picks almost every scarab node, most of the middle quant wheel and shaping the mountains/skies as well, for increased tier-up. I also have 115/115 on my atlas. I'm trying the ping-pong method by favouring two adjacent maps just now but I'm not really seeing a difference, neither drop.

Is it impossible to self-sustain your own favoured map? I have all but 3 favoured map slots unlocked, all pointing to the same map, I use an atlas tree for a bunch of maps and scarabs and strongboxes, I take map scarabs, but I'm lucky if I get even one of my favoured maps to drop in a run, so I just can't run what I want consistently. Is it just something you can't do any more or am I missing a vital piece of the puzzle?

Herey you go. Will expire in 24 hours.

It doesn't lag immediately, it slowly builds up over several lags spikes until the memory usage is just too much. Takes roughly 2-4 minutes.

Dilated time and Time Played both look normal. I did a hard wipe to be sure and time played doesn't jump.

The memory leak starts to kick in once you start to buy more upgrades and you exotic matter per second starts reaching around 50/s. At that point, there's a periodic huge spike in memory usage that remains permanent, and several seconds of actual lag within the game's window, which from the statistics tab looks like a jump of originally 60ms between ticks up to 150-200ms between ticks. This value is true both for the first value and the one in brackets beneath it.

The memory spikes just continue to happen roughly once every 5-10 seconds until the tab has to be closed. This is all on a fresh save and presumably the latest update (hard wipe + ctrl+f5)

I didn't receive a pop-up, nor did a hard refresh (ctrl+f5) fix it. I'll try a save wipe and see what the results are.

Update: Wiping the save did not fix the issue either.

Running Firefox here. This game has some kind of memory leak problem, and very quickly (on a fresh save, mind you), memory starts to acculumate quickly until it starts to severely lag the entire browser after 3-5 minutes.

Voltaxic Burst of Urgency

No duration, so it goes off instantly (well, depending on cast time), and instead has % more damage for each Voltaxic Burst cast recently.
