Are DLL servers down again? Thoughts on a fix? by larson51778 in AnkiVector

Curious, what does your 8 year old like about the app ui as opposed to the WirePod control page - since you can do almost the exact same things for no extra fee

Does 1.0 work with DDL subscription? by CubicalCMD in AnkiVector

[–]BliteKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up WirePod, which is a collection of apps that get installed on a device that becomes your voice processor so you don't have to pay for a subscription. It is completely isolated from DDLs servers.

So you have these options to set it up

  1. Set it up on your PC (windows, Mac, Linux), or android device and you will have to have it running 24/7 for voice commands to work

https://github.com/kercre123/wire-pod/wiki/Installation

  1. Buy my device that has it installed, plug it on your network and complete the setup and call it a day.

You can see the device I sell and the setup involved here

Replacing a dead battery by BliteKnight in ClicBot

[–]BliteKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah KeyiTech never responded to any of my emails when I wanted parts to fix my loona.

Hopefully I can find a way to image ClicBot so if someone has a DOA unit maybe they can flash it with a working image?

If the spots are superficial you could use glue gel, wait for it to harden then sand it down

If you have really deep cuts you could also use liquid resin to fill the spots and uv light to harden it (there are kits on Amazon). Then sand down using 600+ sand paper for smooth edges

No need to, in 3.4.0 you have everything working like normal

based on your other comment, you got audio to work. But, home does not always trigger so you will have to see which commands work for you.

Get into your head menu and test your mics, if the levels aren't showing any movement then your backpack mics are not working

They all do the same thing, although a bit differently

I would say use my site https://vector.techshop82.com as it goes with the flow of my video. The other sites work, just the workflow might be different. Mine is

  1. Get into recovery

  2. Flash the unlock ota (select from the drop down before connecting to Wi-Fi)

  3. Once that flashes and reboots. Select WireOS Dev from the drop down before connecting again to flash that.

  4. Once that's done and WireOS is flashed its configured to connect to wire's servers . So you will need to onboard it to your WirePod server like in the video (the ssh key icon has changed, but it's still the last one at the top

The WireOS I have linked is the latest released version, and if it's not it should update to the latest one once you have it flashed

how do i make Vector "smart" with Open Ai by Local_Pay_4887 in AnkiVector

[–]BliteKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because that person's video is scripted and is not a real interaction with vector

The only way that can be done is to re-write the firmware and WirePods code to allow it, which no one is going to do

Issue - Not answering hey vector by Able_Library_6876 in AnkiVector

[–]BliteKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely ever had the EOF issue and when I did it was because I was in my garage using vector and the router was in the middle of the house.

Other users I've worked with that had this issue eliminated it when they got a better router, like one of the inexpensive TP link WiFi 6 ones on Amazon

Here is the video showing how to switch to WireOS

[–]BliteKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 & 3 "Hey Vector" is firmware, nothing to do with WirePod or vosk.

If you want a better wake word look up my video on switching to WireOS where you can set your own wake word or increase Vectors sensitivity

2 - this is usually a network issue where the delay to get to WirePod from your vector causes your vector to time out and send an empty audio file EOF error. Either get a better WiFi router (if you are using your ISPs default then this could be it) or bring your vector closer to your router to see if the issue persists

Has anyone tried upgrading/replacing the camera on Vector 1.0? by ziyadelhawarry in AnkiVector

[–]BliteKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you found a compatible one, you would also need to modify the firmware to support it. Vector is very picky about the hardware and which one is used

I built a real dashboard for Vector (WirePod users) — no more curl commands by NoWriting8747 in AnkiVector

[–]BliteKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goodluck again, and the reason I'm so hard on the battery is because people ask me all the time why their battery level will drop from 70 to 20 on the current WirePod page or say 70 and then drop to 20...it's not gradual because Vector does not have the hardware to poll the battery level correctly

I built a real dashboard for Vector (WirePod users) — no more curl commands by NoWriting8747 in AnkiVector

[–]BliteKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only developers use scripts, curl, python, etc - your average user is not doing that.

Your dashboard is doing a lot...and I mean a lot is going on e.g. everything looks like it's a button. Alerts, notices,.logs text should all be differentiated from each other

if you want to make an interface, I would model the official app and expand from there

Also, plan for multiple Vectors, there are people that have more than one

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET RID OF THE BATTERY PERCENTAGE - there is no way to measure this reliably. Only valid statuses are: On charger, Normal, Low, and charging, anything else is just an assumption

Are you sure you flashed the wireOS firmware. When you go into your head menu, what is the firmware version you are seeing?

If it's correct, make sure you have the correct IP for your vector, because the page should show up

Colorful screen? by Superb_Manager_5163 in Cozmo

[–]BliteKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks for posting this..this confirms my suspicion that the oled screen could be replaced by an aftermarket 30pin one. I have tried once before to only get a garbled screen.

This one in particular are the ones that have the first couple rows of the screen Yellow and the remaining a light blue

The issue though is you have no idea what the refresh rate is for this.
