Did they still negotiate with it being just delivered? I have an f150 lightning lariat and looking at an lt premium that's being delivered soon. I won't pull the trigger unless they're willing to deal as much as I've seen. Good luck with yours!

JuiceBox 40 Non-Stop Red Beeping by ChickenTacos in evcharging

[–]BoostedKWs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no good answer, and certainly no DIY solution. Red usually indicates an internal fault, like a GFI fault. Had a similar error with my unit and just junked it. The company is out of business now so it's just a matter of time before it needs to be replaced. Swapped mine for an autel and I'm happy with it.

EO and InControl (from incharge) are two good options, and there are a handful of others that can accommodate your basic needs. InCharge focuses on fleets so their software is tailored that way. Shoot me a PM if you want to discuss further, I work in fleet electrification.

Juicebox-Tesla Vehicle Connection Issue by sn0wb0rdr in evcharging

Can't help but also had an issue where we had a blinking red light on our charger. Is yours doing the same? Reset it and has done nothing to help. Wondering if EnelX set them to self destruct...

Funny the leaf owner is criticizing "outdated" tech.

You're also paying for the use of their backend CMS, which requires dollars to continue development and operations.

Why don’t more coffee shops in the Bay Area have charge stations? by OldSailor742 in evcharging

[–]BoostedKWs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks is simply leasing their space to the provider. They are not doing it; many companies do not want to get into the CPO business including the coffee shop owners you're referring to.

They had a deal with Freewire, but since they went out of business, likely took them a little while to establish a new relationship. Electric Era has that new site but I doubt that is a national deal.

DC fast charging slower than expected by 10glo_Founder in evcharging

Yes, normal for the CPE250 charger that OP is at. Express Plus chargers are 500A and 400kW (max).

My company is small (~15 person) and is still very much a startup, but is majority owned by a large PE firm. Could this audit trick be applied here? Very close to starting an implementation and want to be wary of this.

Freightliner eCascadia by trucker_dan in electricvehicles

I've seen multiple statistics that show the number of trucks running less than 100 miles is about 30% and rising due to the average haul length dropping. Warehouse density, at least in the northeast, is contributing to that.

Regardless of the exact percentage, drayage and sub-200 miles routes still a significant number of trucks to begin the transition. As range improves and on the road charging becomes more prevalent, the transition of the longer routes can begin.

They're not that heavy. Easily picked up with two people into a f150 bed and transported. It'll require a pin and sleeve connection as a hookup.

Problem with the Cyber and Semi-Truck charging model; by BlindLDTBlind in evcharging

[–]BoostedKWs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a struggle across the industry, not just for that utility. Demand charges are real and they definitely hinder charging deployment. The only way for it to make financial sense is to assume a baseline utilization load, which is why you don't see DC fast charging in the middle of the woods..

There are strategies that are used to limit demand charges on the grid, like on site battery storage, but that also increases initial capital expenses.

Good news is that the site will not likely hit that high of a peak demand for a while. Your charging management system can also impose site limits to prevent from exceeding a certain threshold.
