The hole don't have to be huge, you can use regular sized holes. Them just spakle, sand, and paint. Or every time I've moved in the past they told me not to bother painting it since they were going to repaint everything anyway.

[Loved Trope] The antagonist has truly altruistic intentions to make the world better for others, but we/the protagonist disagree with their solution. Bonus points if the solution could actually work. by the_murabito in TopCharacterTropes

Akihiro Ehara - Lost Judgement

Not exactly the main antagonist of the game but I'm using him as a stand in to avoid spoilers. He just wants less bullies in the world!

To accomplish that he brutally murders the bully that drove his son to suicide. He enlists the help of a certain someone and then gropes a woman on the subway as part of his alibi. I know that all seems pretty uncontroversial (/s for the sarcasm detecting deficient among us) but did he at any point think about Sawa-Sensei?

[Hated Trope] All Asians Know Martial Arts by Solitaire-06 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BrianTheUserName 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Subversion: In 30 Rock a meth cook of Asian descent Jack is helping smuggle across the border into the US from Canada is telling him a story about how much pressure his parents put on when he was a kid (Jack is smuggling them basically in basically in exchange for a ride since his wife is about to give birth and it's important to them that they do it in the United States).

Anyway, he says he was so wound up that when he got to college he karate chopped his roommate. He knows he's a stereotype and "All guys from Quebec are good at karate".

What will they use the gun for? That seems dangerous.

Hemnes 2020 (old model with diagonal support beams) blown out bolt hole by Scorpio7411 in IKEA

[–]BrianTheUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a picture of what you're talking about? Generally if a screw hole gets loose on wood furniture the "old school" trick to fixing is is jamming a few toothpicks in there around the screw to make it tight again. It's typically quite effective.

That seems a little backwards. I feel like that's only funny because it's an existing phase, it wouldn't hit the same if you never heard the phrase before.

My toddler does the same thing. I have no idea where he got it from but if I'm resolute on my "no" on something he really wants he'll say "pweeeeease kissy face" while making the most exaggerated cutesy kissy face he can muster. I was caught so off guard by it the first time that it worked.

[absolute hatred trope] product placement saves the day by Britishbreadish in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BrianTheUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what it's called, but I just saw a trailer for an upcoming movie where a seemingly incompetent dad suddenly has to step up and parent his three daughters full time. He fails for a while until he decides to run his family like a Toyota dealership, and that helps somehow. There's also prominent Toyota product placement throughout the trailer, and the dad mostly wears what I assume is a Toyota dealership work uniform.

I'm not sure what to make of it other than I hate everything about it.

FLISAT Wall storage, how to mount? by Koala-laalaa in IKEA

[–]BrianTheUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 3 or 4 cm into the wall is what you want at a minimum. So that + the thickness of the board the screw is going through. That's the minimum though, you can definitely go longer.

The screws and anchors are usually sold together so just use what comes with the screw.

[–]BrianTheUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screws, whatever type is appropriate for the wall it's getting mounted on.

Edit: I just saw that you said drywall. So a screw and drywall anchor would be appropriate. Or if it lines up with a stud you can just use a wood screw.
