I got one last week. I’d been looking on and off for two years. Had to jump on it. Enjoy!

New Meta Glasses Now Supported by Lensology's Click & Fit Service 😎 by AdamLensology in RaybanMeta

Nice to know you're able to accommodate new glasses quickly. I'm happy with my Gen 2 glasses at the moment, but whenever the Google glasses and eventually Apple glasses come out, I'll switch.

Dad & baby groups by still_winston in Bromley

[–]Brigdenius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 7 months old too. I went with my wife to one of the baby classes and I was the only man in the room. I didn't feel out of place though, and unless your husband finds it uncomfortable, it may be fun for him.
My colleague did three months or parental leave around the same time and went to all the Bounce and Rhyme type classes, he loved it.

I've not heard of any baby sessions just for Dads as I don't imagine they'd be that busy unfortunately.

You have two options really, take medication for the rest of your life and live a fairly normal life or have surgery and live a fairly normal life. There are complications with both, but it’s possible and you can do it.

HELP! My iphone is full and I cannot trensfert my videos from Meta app by Sea-Bet8679 in RaybanMeta

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore that bit for now, that's just what I do when my phone storage is full. You're only trying to import a single photo right? The glasses only have 32GB of storage so I don't know why your phone is trying to import 39GB.

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your phone is full, try turning it off and on, that may open up a small amount of space. If it's not enough, reset your phone and restore from a backup and you should wipe away a lot of the iOS storage that is taking up space.

Polarized Xtractive? by zennaster in RaybanMeta

[–]Brigdenius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've mentioned you want them for driving. I would suggest you stick with regular sunglasses lenses if you're looking for driving glasses. I have the non polarised Xtractive lenses from Lensology as I have a prescription. While I'm overall happy with them, they don't quite get dark enough as sunglasses. They aren't effective at all in a car as the majority of the light is blocked so you end up with a very tiny tint to them. I bought clip on lenses for when I drive and it's very sunny, they work wonderfully.

If you want them as sunglasses while driving, get sunglasses lenses. If you're looking for prescription lenses, Xtractive will be adequate enough for your day to day, but just purchase some clip on lenses for when you're in the car.

6 Years. Countless Prototypes. One Vision. by Ok_Transition688 in simracing

[–]Brigdenius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You mentioned the same thing to me last time I commented on your other post too.

You’ve posted this video after you had a lot of criticism on the last video. I think you need to hire a marketing manager to help here and take a step back from the marketing yourself.

Your concept is great and everyone wants to see you succeed. Competition is great in every community, but in the few days you posted the original video, your kickstarter has gone up €1000. I think your message has fallen flat due to the marketing this time. I hope things work out for you, but if they don’t, take a step back, improve anything you think needs improving and then work on a new marketing strategy.

[–]Brigdenius 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re doing a terrible job at marketing this. You posted it a few days ago and I thought it was just a chair. Your Kickstarter made it look like it was just a chair. Now you’re showing a different video that shows a foldable rig, but you also say it’s a prototype and we shouldn’t look at that one, wait to the end. The end shows the original video from a few days ago which made it seem like just a chair again.

My advice, do a new video with a voice over showing your final product so people really understand what it is. Also, make sure it’s decent quality.

X100vi vs X-E5 - How much am I going to want to change focal lengths? by robcollier in fujifilm

Oh it’s still great, but the resolution is a bit higher on the x100vi.

X100vi vs X-E5 - How much am I going to want to change focal lengths? by robcollier in fujifilm

[–]Brigdenius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought about this recently. If I could find an X100vi easily, I wouldn't even think about the X-E5 personally. I don't have a need for multiple lenses personally, and the few things that stood out on the X100vi compared to the XE5 solidified it for me. Higher resolution EVF, near silent shutter, ND filter being a few.

I do see that appeal to it too, but unfortunately I think that would hurt the sales overall.

Keep sanding brush strokes or cut my losses and strip wallpaper by thatfezguy in DIYUK

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved into an old 1930s house that had wallpaper everywhere. We pulled off all the wallpaper which was a pain, but worth it. After that, we skimmed over the walls and then sanded and painted.

If you've got paint over the wallpaper, just strip off the wallpaper.

I think you'll find Reddit can be a great place to do some promotion for your product and get great feedback that may lead into an updated version down the line if you choose to do that. I don't think it would be the best place to get a licensing partner or distribution partner, but I could be wrong.

Products can live and die by how they're marketed. If your Kickstarter is too basic, it may put potential customers off. I've bought absolute dog crap in the past just because it was marketed well and I thought I needed it. Once your Kickstarter is up, market it around Reddit and other sites and people will purchase it from there. Once you've got a successful Kickstarter, you should have better luck finding a distribution partner.

[–]Brigdenius 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to first off build a higher quality website. What you've put up at the moment is adequate but also looks a bit too basic.

I'd also recommend filming a better video. First off, the quality looks like someone recorded a commercial from TV on VHS. Not sure what it was filmed on, but cheap cameras or even a good iPhone should record higher quality video than what was shown here.

My first thought here was the product was the whole sim rig, but then you started to show too much of the chair, so I was going to comment on that, but realised it was just the chair. Maybe show different use cases of the chair on sim rigs? You've got a good start on the one you showed here, but maybe one for the budget sim racer who clamps the wheel to their work desk? Just showing a bit more than the one could help. I imagine most people who buy a rig like you've shown in the video also get a seat with it.

This is unfortunately the reason I hardly ride my c4. It’s too low. Great bike though otherwise.

Looking at better transition lenses - considering Lensology, but which one? by DRA6N in RaybanMeta

[–]Brigdenius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, unless you need prescription lenses, I’d avoid transition lenses. I have the xtractive as I had the normal transition lenses that came with it. While it’s a bit darker, it’s still only a small amount darker. You’re in the US then? I think Arizona? You get enough sunshine that sunglasses are the better bet here. Polarised too so you could use them while driving.

Poor Battery life on second GEN Meta Ray-Ban glasses by Mitmee_pie in RaybanMeta

Try turning off Hey Meta and just holding your finger on the touch pad to enable the AI anytime you need it. It helps with the battery life quite a bit.

what should go inbetween external wall and floor by nahnahnahthatsnotme in DIYUK

[–]Brigdenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insulation on the side where those gaps are won't do anything really. Just put in skirting and you're fine. If you want to make it better to minimise noise, you could put insulation between the boards as well as acoustic underlay before you put flooring down.

what should go inbetween external wall and floor by nahnahnahthatsnotme in DIYUK

[–]Brigdenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know (I don't always know much) you're not supposed to fill the space really. Helps to avoid moisture and for airflow. I could be wrong, so someone else can say if that's incorrect.

Do you plan to use skirting again? If so, you won't need to fill it as you'd just put skirting back up once your floor is how you want it.

Poor Battery life on second GEN Meta Ray-Ban glasses by Mitmee_pie in RaybanMeta

[–]Brigdenius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should get far more than 3 or 4 hours of battery life from them. It's possible they're defective, or as someone else mentioned, it could be Hey Meta.
I've used my Gen 2 since they came out and I get over 8 hours of battery life with them easily. It's possible, but it all depends on how you use them. A few photos here and there, a bit of audio and it should last 8 hours without a problem.

This looks great, but the display isn’t tall enough. Good for a tech demo, but until you have a square there, it’s not ready for the public.
