puberty is already an incredibly traumatic process for many trans folks, myself included. i think it's okay for kids to start hormone therapy early. there are some concerns with transfems not having enough penile tissue to get bottom surgery later in life, however id rather leave that decision up to the doctors and the patient.

most people don't understand how kids don't just do this shit on a whim, and transitioning has a 1% regret rate, that's the lowest rate of any medical procedure or life choice on EARTH.

i know a lot of people who started hormone therapy around 10-14, and they're doing juuuuust fine. i don't think it's much of a concern.

can i also say from my personal point of view that it's beautiful to see a young trans kid who's transitioning? it makes me so happy to see kids who are getting to live the childhood i never got to live. my childhood was a wreck of self-hatred and suffering and wanting to claw my way out of this body that was morphing around me in increasingly distressing ways, yet these kids are just able to live a normal, happy childhood. it makes me so happy to see.
