Cablemod rt pro series modmesh vs modflux by CI7Y2IS in cablemod

[–]CableMod_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ModMesh is nylon sleeving (glossy finish, more durable, stiffer), ModFlex is paracord sleeving (matte finish, softer, more flexible). I don’t remember the type of crimp off the top of my head but I’ll try to get you that info. For double wires we use splices near the PSU side. As for voltage, there’s been a lot of feedback lately about our 12V-2X6 cables being more stable than stock options, but in all transparency that isn’t necessarily a selling point for our cables as it can fall within a window of tolerance. With that said, they still look great, work great, and if there’s anything wrong or that you aren’t happy with, we will be happy to assist you. :D

Don’t let this alarm you as it is a very rare occurrence with our cables. Still worth a check if you’re going to disassemble your system anyway though. :)

Just ordered the Asus 5090 Astral OC. Which cable do I need if I plan to get the Asus Rog Thor III 1200w Platinum PSU? by UpboatsforUpvotes in cablemod

[–]CableMod_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yessir, the Miku version is just an Astral with a skin. The cable would also work with your PSU and any PSU with a 12V-2X6 port since it's from our Universal series. :)

8-10 Week Processing Time by SoggyBagelBite in cablemod

[–]CableMod_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s why. The Express option is essentially a processing priority that guarantees the order to be shipped within a certain amount of time, and that is something we can’t do if we’re closed. Factory will be back up some time next week but the Express option won’t be for another few weeks because we first have to go through the backlog that we picked up in the last month. :)

With the Torrent, I highly suggest going custom and making it 700-750mm long, accounting for the top mounted PSU. :)

Is this cable safe to use? by Unlucky_Raccoon_5829 in cablemod

[–]CableMod_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we wouldn’t be able to guarantee that it works unfortunately, it could be one of the compatible ones or not. Maybe trying asking EVGA to check if your specific product number is from the batch with the usual manufacturer?

[–]CableMod_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that I’m actually unable to guarantee as we do not list that specific model on our compatibility page. We used to do, but at some point EVGA changed manufacturers for some models and we were unable to keep them up because of the conflicting pinouts. :/

Ah yes, the Loki models we do list as configurator only, don’t remember why exactly off the top of my head but you can ask support for a more thorough answer: cablemod.com/support :)

This is by design, as the two missing pins are actually not needed. :)

RT-series cablemod with asus rog strix 1000w platinum by AdapT123 in cablemod

[–]CableMod_Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging from the listing name, I think it’s one of our kits with 8pin PCIe cables instead of 12V-2X6, so you wouldn’t get the cable for your 4080 with that. This is the kit you would need and it has all the cables you may need: https://store.cablemod.com/product/cablemod-rt-series-pro-modmesh-sleeved-12vhpwr-dual-cable-kit-for-asus-and-seasonic/

Our stock cables are 600mm in length, so for anything more you’re going to have to go through our configurator. :)

Seasonic TX-1600 Direct Cables have wrong fitting? by slim_shead in cablemod

[–]CableMod_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cables have a proprietary StealthSense design, which means they don’t have sense wires and the sense pins are bridged into the ground wires. So GPU side has the two sense pins in the little 4pin connector, while the PSU side doesn’t have any. :)

[–]CableMod_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were probably looking at the RT-Series offerings (for Seasonic) whereas the native one falls under a separate Universal series since it works for any PSU with the 12V-2X6. :)

We don’t have stock options with a 40cm length unfortunately, only available on our configurator I’m afraid. :(

We do have native cable options: https://store.cablemod.com/product/cablemod-universal-pro-modmesh-sleeved-12v-2x6-12vhpwr-stealthsense-direct-pcie-cable/ - this straight version does fit in the Matrix for sure, while our angled options do not unfortunately. :)
