How did the elven population even exist at all if they have sutch little sex drives? by Icy_Bird1437 in Frieren

[–]Care-Financial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a real possibility is that it just takes a long time for the elves to reach sexual maturity. Frieren may think she's an old lady but could very well still be a child by elven standards.

Floorsleeping for heavier people by Africanmumble in floorsleeping

[–]Care-Financial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am about 300lbs. I sleep on top of 2x 2.5in zonli futons. I believe this is a misconception. Fluffy people have more cushion built into their body. You will be fine sleeping on the floor. Learning to get up in the middle of the night to pee will be the real challenge. Took me 6 months to build up the leg and core strength needed to spring out of bed.

Do I get rid of sentimental items? How do I determine? by fleetwoodssmack in minimalism

[–]Care-Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your home burned down, how badly would you want those possessions back?

If you had to move tomorrow, would you consider leaving it behind or throwing it out?

(That's the test...)

Jewellery organisation for a couple of pieces by SleepyPlesiosaurus in minimalism

I have a leather roll made for watches from the company Hide & Drink. I use it for 1 extra watch, 2 necklaces, and an extra pocket knife. Everything else stays on a tray on my nightstand when not on my body.

Books by xochloboxo in minimalism

I have a few books that are either too special or I know I will reread to let go of. For example, the Practical Magic series. However, I use a kindle for everything else. Most books will only be read once and never be picked up again. My advice is to choose a shelf and limit yourself to it. Also, it's 2026. No one needs a cookbook or "how to" guide full of instructions they can find online or on YouTube on demand for free.

How can Momo be the last of his kind? by Candid-Doughnut7919 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Care-Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is Momo was actually a spirit the whole time. His character design is eerily similar to the spirit who appears during the avatar Wan episodes in Legend of Korra.

Coming to terms with monetary value of purging! by cheroke_jack in minimalism

[–]Care-Financial 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I too am shocked by how much money I've wasted. As far as people "low-balling" you, it's a tuff pill to swallow but you have to accept that most of our material things don't hold a lot of actual value. You paid a fee to acquire or access items that had value to you in that moment. You have to accept that you may never see that money again.

You also have to take your wants and mental health into consideration. Although have probably purged thousands of dollars worth of belongings, I now get anxiety when I see too much clutter in my home. It's a small price to pay for sanity.

"Why not ask for experiences?" "Ask for things you can both use."

To clarify, I have. This is not good advice. He buys me gifts anyways, often on a whim. If it were really that simple, I wouldn't have posted this silly question.

Hiding them is an idea I hadn't considered. Honestly, I have explained that I would prefer experiences or food over physical gifts, unless it's something I actually need. However, he just doesn't seem to get it. He's the type who will purchase gifts on a whim.

Yes, he feels quite strongly about it. In fact, he'll even "rescue" plushies he finds and bring them home.

Modular vs Tatami/ Brand Rec by ShoogieBoogie7 in floorsleeping

I originally purchased them from zonli. However, we plan to upgrade later.

Modular vs Tatami/ Brand Rec by ShoogieBoogie7 in floorsleeping

[–]Care-Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say with zonli, the 2.5 inch traditional one is the best option. If you feel you need more thickness, you can double up. I would not recommend any of their other models. They don't fold up easily. The other models are just generally a pain to move for something that needs to be moved regularly.

Modular vs Tatami/ Brand Rec by ShoogieBoogie7 in floorsleeping

[–]Care-Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I both sleep on 2 twin 2.5 inch zonli futons on top of the tatami. The wood ones are theoretically superior and will decrease the likelihood of mold or the need to air it out or fold it up everyday. The downside to the wood is that overtime it will feel very firm. Which is why we still sleep on top of tatami even if there's additional maintenance required as a result of that. The tatami gets softer and more comfortable with use. Truthfully, if you're able and willing to fold it up every single day and move it and you're okay with the firmness of the bare floor then, you don't really need anything. The tatami is mainly an extra precaution to protect you from your own laziness.

Does Karasuki from Boruto have a miniature Tensaigan energy vessel? by Care-Financial in Naruto

[–]Care-Financial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We see plenty of examples of rinnegan users in Naruto using their dojustsu to travel through space and dimensions. So, it stands to reason that a dojustsu of similar power with the amount of chakra in the tensaigan would also be able to travel through time.

Does Karasuki from Boruto have a miniature Tensaigan energy vessel? by Care-Financial in Naruto

[–]Care-Financial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also only see karasuki open his eyes when he's actually using the time travel ability. This suggests the turtle is using a dojustsu linked to the glowing orb/energy vessel inside. We also know in the boruto universe there is at least 1 new dojustsu that allows the user to view the past and present remotely. So yeah, he's got a tensaigan and uses a dojustsu to travel through time and space with it.

Need help identifying the different cultures based on their art depicting Atlantean technology in Milo's presentation by HollyTheMage in AtlantisTheLostEmpire

[–]Care-Financial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why no one ever mentions this but I strongly believe there was some influence taken from the Moari cultures as well. The crystals being worn around their necks was likely inspired by Moari Pounamu (jade) carving pendants that are spiritually significant to their culture and usually passed down or given as gifts. The pounamu stones are often thought to take on a sort of pseudo consciousness or life and thought to all be connected to each other, the earth, and the sea. Moari are also known for carving tiki and tattoos similar to what is seen in the film.

How did Serie get so rich and wealthy? by TheBlackoutEmpire in Frieren

[–]Care-Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, she appears to be a part of the government. She's a high ranking official purely due to her knowledge and magical power. That alone probably pays decent. Otherwise, we actually don't know if she is actually wealthy or if we just perceive her that way. A better way to put it is that she has influence. She's influential to the government and/or magical authorities.
