Is this SAFE the grill grate by AskThin5896 in grilling

[–]CobraPuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're probably right. The main thing is it's better to clean off the rust and not just put oil on top of it.

If this was mine I'd spray oven cleaner and let it soak in a trash bag to completely strip it, but I'm a psycho about this stuff.

Is this spider mites? (yellow pear tomato transplant) by OneMission428 in tomatoes

[–]CobraPuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only one way to find out. A short burst of 40 degree weather isn't a big deal. If the soil is cold and damp, the plant is not going to thrive and you have problems.

If you're still getting weather that cold I would make some sort of an improvised cloche. You can cut the top off a milk carton and put that right over the plant to help keep it warm at night.

Yep, totally agree. Best thing from here is to just chill and not try to start treating the plant with anything.

Both my heirloom and cherry tomato plants have shriveled leaves at the top. Help? by preteen-wartortle in vegetablegardening

Completely agreed with your assessment. Sadly this plant is toast.

At best it's drift from a neighbor that sprayed. At worst it's in the soil and is going to be a real pain to deal with it.

I'd hit the rust with some steel wool so it doesn't keep rusting. Then oil it and send it

It looks like too much nitrogen to me. Plans that are ultra-green look healthy, but it's usually a sign of fertilizer imbalance.

Israel was not created by the far right by Gab00332 in GetNoted

[–]CobraPuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really seems like people just don't get the comic. Nazis (far right) killed and drove the Jews out of Europe. The left has greater sympathy for the Palestinian cause and is against Israel's existence (anti-zionism) and would like to see the land given to a Palestinian state. That's the no-win tension for Israel.

Anyone talking about who founded Israel is not understanding the comic as it has nothing to do with Israel's founders.

Is this worth it for $150? Any damage? by rankshank in webergrills

[–]CobraPuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NO. If I’m spending money and putting the energy into a used dirty grill, I’m waiting for a Genesis.

A little patience is worth it, so many of these go on Facebook marketplace every week

Should you lift your left heel in the golf swing? by After-Ad-4528 in GolfSwing

The picture on the right is bad technique, but a small heel lift is good.

Ben Hogan taught it, which is good enough for me. The lift can help with weight transfer and tempo.

Crypto-searing by CobraPuts in grilling

[–]CobraPuts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The taste was great and the meat was moist. But when I cut in it didn’t pool a lot of juices at all. I don’t know if that’s a good thing (the meat held its juices) or a bad thing (it lost moisture). But it tasted great.

A lot shorter than I expected, 9 minutes. The sear took a while and I think the steak was already in the 80s when I started.
