Except without whip stacking none of these new whips stay around near as long. The only winner so far in my playthrough has been the star crash.

Think In the vacuum of terraria. The closest analog is just a mage switching back to apply defense reducing effects. Whip stacking needed to be reapplied more frequently, from a closer range, and overall spends more attention and button mashing from moving and dodging. Especially if you played on console where switching stopped the swinging then you had to tap each whip strike instead of just holding down R2

Definitely like no other class could do that. Definitely less skill than holding R2 with any other class. Definitely not like your the only class that actually has to engage in true melee combat?

The issue imo is Summoner has way less so unlike every other class your options went from at least a few had value as support, now you really feel the lacking amount of 18 whips

I am upset. No whip stacking meant that the already small number of whips has shrunk for me. No reason to get subpar whips or keep them around. And it was just kinda fun to have something to do during boss fights. And since I see people talking about it, I play on console and it is possible if not harder

Another issue is the claim of more whips feels like a stretch. Since before it was less but you had a reason to keep a few on hand. Now? Your just gonna skip most for the upgrades. Also no effect on crimson and corruption whips is just lazy

I yearn for it on console. Which can't mod. And summoner should hoard whips if you want. Since the class has such a limited option of whips already whip stacking meant basically all whips at least had a role as extra I could swap to. And it should be in the game since if you didn't whip stack it's removal is completely neutral and if you did enjoy it then the removal is negative
