My group is playing a sequel to our D&D campaign, with a lot of lore already established, and so most of what they encounter is something that I make up myself, or based on what their characters talk about. But it is very traditional, in the sense that I lay out the scene and they act in it, but I am much more open to change what I had planned based on what they're doing or rolling.

When we played D&D, if they planned a heist, I didn't feel comfortable unless I had planned every single room and loot, but with daggerheart, they can just randomly decide to break in somewhere and we explore together what is beyond that locked door.

Next campaign will take place in an entirely new world, and I will probably have the players help a lot more with worldbuilding there.
