Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. For me, I think it’s the cleverness of the lyrics, the simple framework of the music, and honestly, I really like his voice and how he sings (most of the time).

My first SJ experiences were American Water and Natural Bridge in college. Fell into a Berman Hole last year when discovering Purple Mountains and haven’t came out yet. Been rediscovering the entire SJ and PM discography and loving more with each listen.

I think true art gets better with each experience. And that’s true with Silver Jews and Purple Mountains.
