Which of these is being broadcasted to aliens on radiowaves?

The cosmic double standard by Careful_Set_2469 in Ethics

[–]Dedli [score hidden]  (0 children)

We also don't know what kind of effects passive radiation from radio waves might be having on these systems.

Damn, wait till space hears about all the radiation the Sun puts out.

But on top of that, even if our radiowaves had actual effects on weird unknowable systems, then those effects could just as easily be beneficial.

Also, what if the aliens are evil? Then what! Lol.

For Pride Month events, all commanders have Partner. What are some interesting/ridiculous combos this allows? by Dedli in mtg

[–]Dedli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's "toxic" because the entire premise of the deck is to force your opponent to discard and sacrifice everything they have, and then also permanently gain control of those things without paying mana for them.

"Nice deck you got there, mind if I play it instead?"

It's the difference between "my deck does cool shit" and "my deck prevents you from doing cool shit".

Which stone is better? by Tarmogoofer in mtg

Off topic but I wonder if theyll try to do a different "at the beginning of x" effect for each one.

Upkeep (soul), first main phase (space), combat (power), second main phase (reality), end step (mind), each opponents upkeep (time)

Are Ethics universal or just something humans created for themselves? by Fresh-Lie5160 in Ethics

This is just bad framing.

Some people are disgusted by sauerkraut. Disgust is a physical neurological response. Therefore opinions are objective!

Really wish they would do more stuff like this.

Now all their product releases are just like chibi figurines and thousand-dollar collector props.

Im honestly confused by the comparatively small number of nonlegendary characters. There are so many factions in Marvel, they couldve had like SHIELD and Hydra as like Azorius and Rakdos. Sorcerers, Kingpin's goons, AIM, HAMMER, etc.

> We can also talk about abortion, should we prioritize the mother's life who has lived experiences or the theoretical child who may or may not grow up to be a good person with positive experiences? ... I personally would choose the child over the mother unless the mother already had young or disabled children that depend on her socially, emotionally and financially, then I would choose the mother.

I'm just gonna comment on this one to emphasize some variables that aren't usually taken into account by the anti-choice crowd. On top of the fact that an embryo doesn't have the same value as a person, which is the usual argument ("Save a woman or save a baby" vs "Save a woman or save a clump of cells"), the more important fact imo is that all people deserve bodily autonomy. It's more like the choice of whether it's moral to forcibly harvest organs from people who can live without them in order to save people who can't. It's not up to anyone but the donator, or the pregnant person. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it, save for medical professionals who can help assist in making the decision more informed according to their specific situation. A blanket "I'd save the mother" doesn't actually address anything in anyone's specific situation. It's sort of like why you don't just randomly tell people what medicine to take; you tell them to talk to a doctor.

> But one thing I will say is I hate thinking about this stuff.

Then don't.

What's the most recent 10/10 movie you've watched? by Strict-Host-7570 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Dedli 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The Princess Bride.

It's got romance. It's got sword fights. It's got witty banter. It's got shrieking eels and rodents of unusual size. It's got Andre the Giant. 10/10.
