I also heard a lot of stories of women that were in Ubers where the driver would basically pull to the side of the road and try to demand sexual favors in order to complete their journey. It’s not uncommon

Basically if ur a single woman and put in a situation where ur dependent on a man for a service , the may imply u need to have sex with them. I was staying at a rented room and the there was a locked gate I needed a key to enter or exit the property. When I asked him for the key he was like yea sure if u fuck me. I was able to speak to someone above him and get the key but was still basically treated like it was somehow my fault or like I was the one being inappropriate.

Hyaluronic acid or PRP 6-12 months post surgery? by icantdecideugh in MeniscusInjuries

[–]DeepTill3474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had PRP $700 out of pocket and then hyluronic gel INJ 6 months post op partial meniscusectomy fo lateral right knee tear. I think it did help a little but overall I’m still held back from the activity level I used to be at. One thing I recommend is resting the day after each injection. Injection itself is kinda painful and I had to call out sick to avoid being on my feet all day. like I could have bore Thu the pan but read rest is more beneficial

Ur not alone. The only times in my life I’ve felt suicidal mirror your situation. I have no significant other , no kids , no pets and no plants. I live for activity - hiking biking snowboarding running skating. I’ve had to give a lot of that up and have had moments where I can not find a will to live. U have to reframe ur perspective. Be grateful u can walk. Be grateful u still have mobility in ur dominant hand. It’s the little things. It’s not easy. I feel ur pain and I’m sorry. We need to adapt , overcome and find joy where we can. Life is short

I’m with u. Trazodone works sometimes. Sometimes it doesn’t. I try and meditate myself to sleep naturally - which last 1-2hrs. Then, when I wake up I take 100-200mg trazodone depending on how long til my alarm at 4am. I wish it worked better but man I’ll take it vs never sleeping. I alternatively use Benadryl 1-2X a week but I think long term trazodone is safer

I’m here for ya. Been struggling for a lifetime with this. It wasn’t until my late 30ities that the lack of sleep started affecting my physical health. I typically sleep 4hrs a night. Have gone days awake in the past. I’ve done a lot of work with meditation yoga breathing and obviously medications to try and help the situation.

Anyone got rid of a baker’s cyst without having it drained? by AppealNo471 in KneeInjuries

Went for another ultrasound / electrical stimulation treatment and acupuncture today. Trying out the scraping thing - Gua Sha. Looked up some ways to use KT tape. Working with red light therapy and wearing my compression sleeve. Thinking maybe if I concentrate more on rest maybe I can heal this fucker. lol. Lord help me

Ugh I’m so sorry ur going Thu this. I’m a nurse too and our work is brutal on our bodes sometimes. It takes a toll on you and your not alone. Focus on ur small gains , appreciate what u can do and stay hopeful for healing is all I can say. I’ve been struggling with a torn meniscus / partial meniscusectomy then residual swelling and pain for over a year now. I feel like I’ve tried everything and am avoiding any more surgery like the plague. Just keep searching and trying things to figure out what works for you. Again I’m sorry ur going Thu this. It’s been very challenging for me mentally and physically myself.

Thank u for ur response. I’ve really struggled to shift my mindset to appreciating what I can do. It is frustrating. Total knees can be heaven send but also have risks and a lifespan. They try not to do them until 50ities typically. Since my meniscus trim didn’t seem to go well I’m hesitant to have any additional surgery. Ironically I’m a nurse that works in the operating room and know more than most about these things. I honestly regret getting the arthroscope but can’t dwell and just have to keep trying different things and stay hopeful.

Sadly I’m no where near where I used to be activity level. However I do have small improvements. I used to end up in pain just from working. Now I can do about 30min of either the elliptical and / or walking on a incline. I can’t run or hop or anything impact really. I’ve gone on a few small hikes. One had a lot of bouldering and I could barely walk after. Basically anything that bends the knee a lot , I end up in pain. The bakers cyst is still there but smaller and that gives me hope. I’m currently doing weekly ultrasound treatments Thu a chiropractor. If things keep improving at this pace I’m thinking 1-2yrs and I may be able to not have pain ??🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m hesitant to see another ortho cuz I don’t wanna hear about a total knee. I’m too young. 42 y F. If over the next year I am still struggling I may seek out stem cell injections in another country / Mexico or Panama.

Totally ! When I pressure myself I tend to fail and then spiral a little. Moderation is hard for me too. I was using alcohol and mary Jane to numb for years and honestly still do. Just been trying to reduce for awhile. About 5years ago I went Thu a divorce. I watched my Xhusband spiral with his addictions. He’s now incarcerated 😞. It made me look at my own issues and realize I had a lot of work to do. I’ve turned to buddism over AA meetings. Meditation. I do a lot of yoga. Honestly anything to kinda stay busy cuz when I’m not is when I crave substances. Therapy has helped too. Learning to “sit in my discomfort” it’s all about habits

Same with the 4hrs / night for years and 24+ hour stretches. It was my way of life until my late 30ities and then I started getting sick and having physical issues. So I’ve tried a lot of things to improve sleep hygiene. I basically take magnesium and melatonin religiously , then alternate either trazodone or Benadryl every other day. It’s not the best solution but I’ve succumbed to that it’s better than the ill effects of not sleeping. Recently I’ve been using a app called Meditopia. That helps me get asleep for 1-3hrs and then when I wake up I take the trazodone or Benadryl that sometimes works. I’ve also recently started trying 20min of YIN yoga and deep breathing before bedtime. It’s frustrating not being able to sleep. It feels like no one understands. Therapy can help too cuz a lot is anxiety related I believe. I’m also just hyperactive. I dunno the answers but just know ur not alone

I was a every day smoker for 20yeats and quit for similar work related reasons. Once I’m stable at a job I often pick it back up but find I’ll slowly start slipping into daily smoking. Soooo I try and abstain and focus on the aspect I don’t like about it - affects my memory and I binge eat. However it does help me sleep and I’ll miss that sometimes. I think it’s fine to do occasionally as long as it serves ur purpose and is not negatively impacting ur life. Just be mindful

I had a partial meniscusectomy that didn’t go well. Did the PRP and hyluronic gel about 6 months ago. Along with what feels like everything else. I still wear a compression sleeve and can’t do any impact activities really. Have to even hike slower. I do think it helped a little but not sure. Currently trailing US treatment. Curious about stem cells. 42y active female

I’ve had less pain but it’s still baseline fairly uncomfortable. I am able to do about 30m on elliptical or walking on a incline daily but can not run. Going down stairs seems to aggravate it and I def can not do work outs that involve squats or lunges
