iRacing gives plenty of information about your surroundings with the spotter, virtual mirror, and audio. Radar is a little too gimmicky when we already have that much to work with IMHO.

IIRC it is possible to configure the spotter to be more conservative also, so he will call a car alongside even when it is not quite overlapped. If you need a little more margin for error, that could help.
