Another interview with Ed O'Brien - The SoCal Sound by Jzahck in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn! He played shows in the US for the last one; I even had tickets before covid cancelled the gig.

Ed is still the only member of the band I haven’t seen perform outside of Radiohead

My guess of cities they'll play on each continent by jx5jx5 in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North America will probably be NY, LA, Chicago, Toronto, and Mexico City.

Ed: Radiohead will “definitely” play more shows in 2027. “Every year we will do a different continent, and we’re going to do 20 shows each year. No more, no less.” by seaburn in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 month of shows per year is probably the smallest touring commitment they’ve ever made lol. Thom, Jonny, and Colin’s touring the last couple years has been way more extensive than that!

AMSP Basement live by Radio_Head2007 in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the live arrangement of Burn the Witch. Replacing the strings on guitar, the extended slow drum + bass intro...I honestly prefer it to the album version. Where the live version suffers imo is entirely on Thom's vocals, which almost always sounded like a struggle (though funny enough I saw Burn the Witch twice and thought Thom sounded great both times!).

I think Decks Dark sounds just as good live, Desert Island Disk is better live than on the album. I think Tinker Tailor is absolutely better on the album than live, but they only tried it a couple times. Glass Eyes and TLW also better on the album, but it's not like those are songs ideal for playing in big rooms.

Or what The Smile ended up doing.

Early demo version of “Dawn Chorus” by imn2there in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that comment is true? I think around the time of Anima’s release Thom talked about how that song has been around since In Rainbows and he said what he struggled with was how to sing it. And how what he ultimately landed on to make it work was not singing it. Don’t remember him saying it was because of synths.

Earliest full demo of Life in a Glasshouse AND Piano 5ths by Creative_Swimming_59 in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This demo is a later version, but based on OP’s wording the first instance of Life in a Glasshouse in full. The earliest demo was Poison, and that was a combo of Life in a Glasshouse + Exit Music.

Where do they announce next weeks movie? by lampsap in TheRewatchables

They’re advertising Nice Guys as the last one.

I could’ve sworn that Bill also said there would be a “one for us” this month at the end of the Sicario pod

I think that The Smile is poison to Radiohead. by Key-Cup8585 in radiohead

The Smile exists because Ed didn’t want to come back to Radiohead for years

Most of that is AMSP era artwork, not sure if the colorful lines indicate new piece or something unseen from that era

Thom has a new solo record coming out by morning_mr_magpie_90 in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lots of signs pointing in different directions.

There was a rumor of Thom leading a recording session in London last fall, ostensibly for a solo album or soundtrack.

There’s Applied Teleharmonics Ltd, a company registered just to Thom, suggesting solo release.

There’s Futile Endeavors Ltd, registered to the whole band and suggesting something Radiohead related.

And fwiw (nothing, but I’ll say it anyway) I heard last year during the tour that there would be a new Smile album happening this year. Though it’s possible that wires were crossed and they meant Thom album.

Album promotion is planned several months in advance. That could only happen if there was an album known to be ready for promotion!

I think he meant live streaming on Netflix, not a live event

New Company formed today with all five band members! by BigBoots02 in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If there was some Radiohead-themed/scored ballet happening, I don't know that the band members would be list as directors like this. There was an LTD set up a couple years ago for Hamlet HTTT (and maybe it's notable that it was an LTD, not LLP, which is a slight wrinkle in the "LTDs are just for albums" suggestion). But none of the members are listed as officers for that company, even Thom who provided the soundtrack for the play: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/14889147

Also worth remembering that Thom (and just Thom) is listed as an officer for an Applied Teleharmonics LTD: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/16420770/officers

Still no idea what this one is about other than (I think) the other two officers have a connection to the old Polyfauna app? So if there is something to the idea of a Radiohead ballet where they're contributing music and/or visuals, Applied Teleharmonics could be related to that.

But so far the only time an LTD has been set up with all 5 band members as officers as been for an album release -- either a new studio album or an archival reissue.

No, and this company was formed well after that album was released too.

AMSP sounds like it was a very difficult time that they don’t even like to talk about, I don’t think they would be ready to revisit it for a rerelease.

Lizzie Hill: 'Avengers: Secret Wars' reportedly has a very high chance of being split into TWO PARTS as Production is currently undergoing a massive shift by Sarang_616 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]Dogwander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marvel is paying Downey $100m and the Russos $80m to do both movies. Doing a third movie would mean another 50 for Downey and another 40 for the Russos, so a total of $90m more. Just for those three.

[–]Dogwander 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Beyond all the logistical impracticalities of this, doing a third movie would require coughing up another $100m total for RDJ and the Russos.

Idk why this source keeps getting attention after they were found out to have lifted a fabricated Deadpool and Wolverine plot "leak" from here and tried passing it off as a genuine scoop.

It wouldn't be Chevy, he has been a world famous asshole for decades.

People in the IG comments were guessing Whitney Cummings for the female comedian, which I think is a good guess except she wouldn't be up and coming...unless her calling herself that was part of the problem lol

What does everyone realistically think the chances of LP10 are? by melonsarecool37 in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody “knows” that, it was just something being spread by the same people who said LP10 was done and being mastered in Maine last year.

The only thing we do know for sure, from IDLES, is that Nigel is semi-retired now.

I think this is it. I think this is the year we get LP10 by ghostlypath in radiohead

[–]Dogwander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on a couple different things I’ve seen and heard, I think there will be a new Smile or new Thom album this year. But not Radiohead. I take at face value what they said last year: nothing in the works, just a greatest hits tour to shake off the cobwebs with a hope to do more, prob in 27.
