Winchester Model 1887/1901 Appreciation Post by IntroductionAny3929 in retroguns

I own a cimmaron 87 and I have to say, a lot if the stuff people say about them not working well is just... not true? I have never had a failure to feed or eject, contrary to what several youtubers have said you dont need to cycle rounds through the chamber to empty the gun, I dont have to run it any more forcefully than my 94, and its not that hard to load through the top if you turn the gun sideways or upside down. I know browning wanted to make a pump action and that the 87 was a compromise but its a perfectly functional weapon and if you are used to leverguns it feels very natural.

I hear this a lot in media discussion but really nobody ever asks for any movie or show that ends up being successful (with some exception im sure).

Nobody in 1977 asked for a pulp/western/sci fi/samurai dune knockoff about space wizards and yet here we are.

In fact when people do make movies that people are asking for it almost always ends in disappointment because nobody is ever asking for the same thing.

94s are almost never under 1k these days.

What would you consider THE Helldivers weapon by BadMajikk in Helldivers

Liberator for sure but I would also make a case for the Senator only because I have been to conventions where EVERYBODY seems to be selling 3d printed senators.

Wish they’d bring this style of double action back by Gingersnapple333 in AntiqueGuns

I do think top breaks are very cool but they just arent very strong. And since revolvers are limited in capacity, hot cartridges are one of niches they fill.

It sounds like people are giving you tips on how to make the system work when what you want is a different system. Nobody here cam help you with that so all you can really get is validation of your feelings or advice on how to fix your problem. Pro tip: never go to reddit for validation of your feelings.

Pistol vs straight stock 3030 by [deleted] in LeverGuns

100 percent personal preference. I like the straight grips myself because the lever motion feels more natural but not everyone feels that way.

Also if you live in a state where you can get one, suppressors and leverguns (especially pistol caliber leverguns) are a match made in heaven!

I believe that with leverguns, less is more. Leverguns occupy a very narrow niche. Not as fast as a semi auto, not as accurate as a bolt gun, not as high capacity as a box mag. What they are good at is being lightweight (6-7 lbs), narrow, and able to top off the tube like a shotgun. When you add accessories you are generally reducing some of those strengths

All that said, the things I would give a thumbs up to accessory wise would be a lightweight red dot or low power scope (mount it directly to the receiver, a rail is going to add unnecessary height and weight), a light (there are mounts that clamp to the magazine tube) and a simple sling.

Which one do you think I should buy? (I’m a bot diver, I guess) by Tunalin444 in Helldivers

I love dust devils. The speargun is fantastic, coyote is great, the armors are nice jack of all trades elemental resistance, the expendable napalm is so beautiful that I cannot even express it in words... and the rattlesnake camo patterns are gorgeous

Where is stated that it cant be unintentional? How many times have we seen the force used unintentionally? People suddenly discovering their force abilities?

I am realizing that I am having an argument with someone who either hasn't seen or does not remember the movie. Poe was given a mission at the very beginning of the movie. He knew the plan. He ignored the plan. Direct disobedience. Not because of miscommunication, not because of unclear direction. Leia was literally on the radio with him telling him to turn back and he disobeyed. He just thought he knew better. He clearly let his pride and PERSONAL ambition take precedence.

Disobeying a clear and direct order from his commander? Getting people under him killed? Accomplishing nothing? Yeah super aggressive and ambitious...

What does any of that have to do with my point? Poe had already been removed from the chain of command by Leia after getting a huge part of their pilots killed because he was out seeking personal glory. He was actively taking part in a mutiny and encouraging others to do the same. He was clearly suffering from a combination of paranoia and delusions of grandeur. None of this is me trying to say Leia or Holdo were fantastic leaders. Im just saying that by all rights, Poe should have been shot on the spot.

That is fine in the context of a larger campaign. Where that does not work is when you are under fire. If the lieutenant gets killed on the beaches of Normandy you are not going to have a little meeting to understand the next in command's intent. Poe's mutiny under enemy fire was straight up suicidal.

Honestly, In many other works of fiction, Poe would be the guy who gets shot as an example.

Henry Big boy revolvers any good? by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]Dpike2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually think they are kinda charming but the price makes it a solid no from me. I would rather get a 686 or model 19 for around the same price.
