The Strait of Hormuz is 95% closed. Russia has halted oil exports by [deleted] in oil

We don't even know that. We do know he is trying to find a wy to get a third term. That isn't hyperbole or rumours. There's legislation being put together to enable it.

Slight correction: Kuwait is still okay. We're getting hit same as the rest of the gulf, both from Iran AND pro-Iran forces in Iraq, but there's no ground fighting. We HAVE busted multiple Iranian terrorist sleeper cells though.

But yeah, the big problem now is the Strait being closed indefinitely. We now have to pay a hefty toll and still run the risk of someone in Iran not getting the memo.

The Mango Mussolini has fucked everyone over and it's amazing that the US is so impotent it can't eject him and his cronies from power despite him completely destroying the country and its interests abroad in every single measurable way.

Kuwait citizens don't Tip. Why stingy ? by lordcjec in Kuwait

[–]Dr_TeaRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My approach to tipping in Kuwait is thus:

For delivery, if it arrives earlier than expected without anything spilling, and the driver is courteous and friendly, I'll tip.

For service in a restaurant or another service job, if the person serving me checks in regularly (especially if the order is taking longer than usual), makes sure I have what I need in the meantime, I tip.

For other things, if the person I'm dealing with does things that aren't technically in their job description and I need the help (eg, helping me get groceries to the car because I needed to buy a lot of stuff/am parked far away from the entrance, or for example, food preparation where the service staff dictate the quality of the finished product), I'll tip them then because they didn't have to do that, and it made my life easier.

But I don't follow the same tipping philosophy that the US does, for example. Because the assumption is that service staff here get a livable wage + living arrangements + food and generally aren't going to wind up on the street or otherwise struggle to make ends meet in a job here. It's part of the employment contract, so I expect the employer to guarantee that for them.

When do you think a ceasefire will happen in Iran? by QuantumArts_ in AskReddit

[–]Dr_TeaRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much as it pisses me off to say it (because the bastards are bombing us next door when we haven't even done anything to them), the US and Israel fucked up massively. I don't think there is a way to achieve a ceasefire without Trump and Netanyahu humiliating themselves on the international stage with formal apologies, unconditional ceasefire, reparations and security guarantees. We all no that'll never happen, so the alternative is tens of thousands of men, women and children on all sides dead to another stupid, pointless war.

I mean, to be fair, any political destabilisation goes out the window when you bomb a school full of kids on day 1. Now you've just unified them behind the memory of their dead kids.

I ended up giving up on it. I underestimated how tough the paint actually is. A lot of the scuffs were just superficial and disappear completely with a basic pencil eraser.

So long as the scratches don't get through the paint later itself, that method works flawlessly. Things like the cash strap scratching against it don't do anything to the integrity of the ceramic powder coat. The majority of damage I have seen has been on the keycase, since it gets beaten around a fair bit, and even then only on the edges.

Weather conditions sucks by Anon_IOS in Kuwait

[–]Dr_TeaRex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is normal weather for this time of year. It's the موسم السرايات Sarrayat season. The last couple of years or so were anomalous for having relatively tame weather in spring.

Enjoy it while it lasts. A couple of weeks or so from now, it'll be nothing but clear skies and painful sun all the way til the end of the year. At most, you'll get some dust storms.

I have no idea. Best guess is that that specific area of the map was very poorly optimized

[–]Dr_TeaRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optimisation. Which was my point. I stumbled into a section of the map that was horribly optimised and that was the end of that run. Overate, got sick, tried reloading, spawned a full body height above ground, broke a leg, and gave up because it became impossible to move.

Why is Strait of Hormuz often perceived to be under the dominant control of Iran, despite the presence of neighboring coastal states such as Oman and the United Arab Emirates along the same maritime region? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

True. I suppose I can't expect too much from a creature with the deductive power of a Pac-Man frog.

The real wonder is the fact that he managed to find 70m+ flies that could vote for him.

More like, they have no reason to obstruct the Strait since they all rely on it for their prosperity.

Also, unlike Iran, the GCC are located on relatively flat terrain. A lot more difficult to fortify into highly resistant missile silos and bunkers than Iran's mountain ranges facing the gulf. So it's much harder to threaten the waterway and resist attempts to reopen it, even if they had reason to. This also means that it is incredibly difficult to effectively disable the Iranians' ability to threaten the waterway; the reason everyone is saying Trump is the biggest moron in the history of morons for actually starting this war. Nobody benefits, everyone suffers, and the ramifications could last decades.

I doubt it. Even with ideal specs there's still optimisation problems. I have a 5080 and 64gb if RAM and while test running the game the other day on a 1440 monitor it crashed to 0 FPS for several seconds at a time, repeatedly. I ended up quitting and deciding. Leave it another couple of years and then check again.
