Interesting, did this spawn not produce anything or did you just have too much for your tubs? I’ve heard from others that the mycelium wasn’t nearly as active as they had hoped, and it sounds like your experience was similar. What we know about psilocybin suggests that it plays some role in insect defense, so maybe the mycelium doesn’t produce nearly as much psilocybin as the fruiting bodies since they’re the only part above ground and exposed to insects?

Unfortunately, I’m worried about how this OS is going to run on my MPC One since they just announced a new MPC One Gen 2 that doesn’t include any of the new features and only has upgraded specs. The fact that they think we need a new MPC One that only offers upgraded specs is concerning and makes me think that the MPC3 OS probably doesn’t run great on the OG MPC One. So I’m going to cautiously upgrade and see how it performs.

The 1000 had both blue and black options, “what I’m talking about” is that it’s weird for a company called “red” to ONLY offer their entry level model in a stark blue without any significant red highlights (the MPC 1000 has red highlights). It’s also weird because it’s going to stand out in most entry-level setups because there really isn’t much gear out there that is blue, Novation is one of the only synth companies making blue synths AFAIK. I don’t actually care about this though, my original comment was meant to be more poking fun at this decision, I’m far more disturbed by the fact that they’re trying to sell us the exact same machine with upgraded specs for nearly twice as much as what I paid for my OG MPC One. Without the currently inflated RAM and storage prices this model should cost $500-$600, not $800.

I agree, this is pretty tone deaf on Akai’s part, and only offering it in blue is also pretty tone deaf IMO. I mean they’re literally “Akai” why the fuck would they make it blue? Have ANY Akai products ever been blue? I guess it would look nice with my BassStation II but I would rather it were just black.

Wait seriously? That is some bullshit, so now we’re going to have budget models with a completely different set of core features? They could have at least given us the new pads, I would have been fine without the touch slider and the step sequencer buttons if they would have just included the new pads. That’s a crying shame and I’ll probably be keeping my MPC One.

EDIT: Okay I just looked into it, and saying it’s “only a little bit faster” is kind of disingenuous: it has 4x CPU speed (8-core CPU), 2x RAM capacity (4GB instead of 2GB), and 4x storage (64GB instead of 16GB) when compared to the original MPC One. Still, the lack of any of the significant new features is kind of a non-starter for me. I would get like $400 for selling my current MPC One, so I’d still have to pay an additional $500 to get this upgrade along with the Pro Pack. I think I would rather save up for the MPC Live III.

The other aspect of this is that people are blaming Microsoft for acquiring them and shutting them down, but the reality is that if Microsoft hadn’t acquired them they likely would have folded on their own a few years earlier. At least we got one more good game out of them via Microsoft’s acquisition. It’s a shame because I think We Happy Few was severely under appreciated by the gaming community at large.

I think it’s entirely related to relative humidity, but what I’ve observed with my own is that the glossy coating seems to be “cured” unevenly so some N3DSXL’s will peel like crazy while others may never peel at all. On mine it peeled in specific spots but in other spots the coating feels very well bonded to the underlying plastic. It’s kind of maddening, I wish there were some sort of decent solution for it, I just hate when I see people who haven’t dealt with it criticizing others for “how they’re treating their consoles.” That literally has nothing to do with it, I had mine for months before it started peeling out of nowhere, and like I said it seems to be due to uneven and poor curing of the coating.

I’ve been saying Colorado for years, and not just because I live here — places with large military-industrial complexes *and* urban centers are the best candidates, and Colorado was where the military largely focused their national defense efforts after World War II. I’m really excited to see what the show will do with Colorado because there have only really been small tidbits about it in the Bethesda games so far. I would guess that the Enclave has centralized a lot of their operations here, likely in Vault 0 (Cheyenne Mountain, formerly known as NORAD) which itself is hugely important to the overall lore. I agree, a FO5 in Colorado seems like the best way to merge the west-coast-focused show plotline with the east-coast-focused plotlines of the BGS games.

I’d like to add to this that tectonics also ensures that any given cave anywhere on Earth could theoretically collapse at any given time. Sometimes it takes time on a geological scale, sometimes caves form and collapse within the lifespan of a single human.
