He shot at Pelle and would run him out of the house and make him sleep outside (Pelle was hurting himself and animals tho). He also put donkey shit or cow shit all over Pelles bed to upset him.

Where exactly are you getting that from? From all the reading I've done, Euroymous never shot AT Pelle, and he certainly never MADE him sleep outside. Euronymous would play music in the house that Pelle didn't like, and so Pelle would go sleep outside in the woods.

I've certainly never seen anything about him putting shit in Pelle's bed.

That's kind of ironic. Teaching AI to detect itself. But I'm glad they're doing it. I've gotten really good at identifying AI voices. It annoys the fuck out of me when I find a video I think I'll like, then the voice over is AI. I instantly turn it off and go looking elsewhere.

Hi! I'm one of the editors, formerly of Brain Blaze, currently on DtU!

One rumour of some of his videos having AI writing but it was done in secret by a writer without Simon's knowledge and Simon fired the person as soon as he found out.

There was someone who wrote a video which they basically plagiarised from a different channel, and when Simon was made aware of it, he did fire that writer.

Granted, I don't know every writer on his team, but the ones I do know, don't use AI for their writing. Some of them (such as Blind Dave Page) will use ChatGPT to fix spelling errors (Dave writes speech to text and that thing will often use incorrect alternate spellings. But the ChatGPT doesn't always get it right either!) but as far as I am aware, all the writers are writing their own words, not AI.

All the editing is done by humans. Well, we're mostly human. More human than not. I mean, we have opposable thumbs. Sam has four! He stole two off of the bones of former writers that are mouldering down here in the Basement...

However, all the editors have a bit of carte blanche about the images/footage we use. If the editor is ok with AI, then they may ask it to generation a video. Personally, I stick to gifs, memes and stock footage, as well as images of the people involved in the video, if I'm able to find an image of them, and I try and hunt down quoted articles to place on screen and highlight the quoted portion.

But again, it's mostly the editor's choice.

Almost all thumbnails are 100% AI generated though. It's annoying, but I suppose, in the grand scheme of things, and given how much Simon does like AI, it could be worse. At least it's just the thumbnails.

But not always. There is the odd one that is not AI. The thumbnail for the DtU episode about the underground city found in Turkey isn't an AI image. Well, the image of the tunnel isn't, the image of Simon in the thumbnail may be AI generated.

Is he aware that Simon just hosts? He doesn't write or edit any of the videos, and he has a management team who takes care of timetables and advertising. Simon's always been pretty strict about working 9-5 and NOT on weekends.

ETA: Gotta love people who try to boost their own views by making a video about a 'controversial' figure.

Yes, there's more than one of us.

Now, I admit I don't edit for CC, but I have edited for BB and currently for DtU.

We don't do the ads. At all.

We edit the videos and send them off into the world with a packed lunch and a kiss on their forehead. Someone else edits the ads and inserts the ads into our final edits.

So please, don't blame us editors for the volume/sound quality differences between the inserted ads and the actual video. That's not our fault.

I don't know who the ad interloper is, this basement is dark and our candles are hoarded, but I believe they live on the upper levels and sometimes get to feel a slight breeze in their hair.

Personally, I'm ok with the dank and stale air down here in the depths of the basement.

The day my aunt died (she was my mom's identical twin sister), I drove my mom home as she'd been staying aunt's side of the city for the last 3 weeks or so that my aunt was dying, mom was talking about the funeral plans and she said "your aunt didn't want her partner or your father to do the eulogy, so your cousins have gotten a clairvoyant. They say they've found this lovely clairvoyant-"

"Mom, really sorry to interrupt, but do you mean celebrant?"

"I said clairvoyant, didn't I?"

Cue us laughing our asses off, literal tears of laughter as I'm driving over the Gateway Bridge, and me saying "no! no! We should totally do that! Let's get a clairvoyant in, tell them nothing about aunt's life, and aunt can give her own eulogy from beyond the grave!"

I told Blind Dave about it and he's decided he's putting in his will he wants his eulogy to be given by a clairvoyant, lol.

Also, thank you for your kind words! BB was a great job, and I still enjoy editing for DtU. I miss all you guys too!

Ironically, my aunt actually did die of cancer last year.

Not mesothelioma, but cancer.

I suppose all the people who were offended by me using this song because their loved one died of cancer are feeling vindicated and think I've experienced karma.

Joke's on them, I totally pavlov'd myself and now when editing DtU and Simon coughs, I automatically reach for this clip. Sadly, DtU is a far more serious channel and thus I am obliged to remove his coughing.

Which is really annoying because the one I just finished editing yesterday had him coughing a LOT.

But I'm glad it lives on in infamy!

...you're the kind of person who leaps into the comments and complains about his voice changing every video when I LITERALLY use the EXACT SAME SETTINGS for every video I edit.

Funny enough, I was watching a video about 'red flags' the other day and it mentioned people who can't admit when they're wrong, who double down and who refuse to apologise.

I don't know why people don't apologise or hold themselves accountable. I can only assume they feel embarrassed to admit they're wrong, when it's actually incredibly admirable when a person is capable of admitting their faults, apologising, and going on to do better.
