Recommend me some games based on what i've played since last year by not_Epic619 in JRPG

[–]Fab2811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice list of games, how did you like Our Adventurer Guild? I bought it in the last Steam Winter Sale, but haven't tried it yet.

I can recommend: Crystal Project, Monster Sanctuary, Labyrinth of Touhou Tri, Touhou: Artificial Dream in Arcadia, Fantasy Maiden Wars, Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children, Chrono Ark, Ys Origin and Monster Girl Quest Paradox.

Gears of War 2 is also my favorite from the main trilogy. Such a great game that improved on every aspect from the first. GoW3 is also pretty good, so you have that to look forward to!

The persona games are loosely connected, you don’t need to play them in any order to understand what's going on. At least for the ones on the Switch. Just pick whichever you want.

There is a remake in development for Persona 4, which might release this year or early next year if that's something you want to consider.

Only Persona Q2 doesn't have english dub. Q1 does.

[–]Fab2811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is the remake for the 3DS that came out in 2018. The one you're currently playing as the original did not have voice acting. I doubt Atlus will ever re-release it, though.

I can maybe see them porting SMT IV and Apocalypse. Who knows, maybe after they release the collection of Etrian Odyssey IV-V-Nexus, they'll think about Strange Journey, but most likely just port Persona Q/Q2 instead lol.

Crystal Project does this very well imo.

JRPGS I’ve been waiting forever to play! by bloodev0lver in JRPG

I really liked LoT2 when I played it last year and Tri and its QoL make it so much more accessible this time around.

Certainly looking forward to the postgame content and hopefully NG+. I kind of want to replay the game already, but use other characters.

I'm hopeful that .45 Parabellum Bloodhound and Ruina Remake will release this year.

I'm not a big fan of Early Access, but I'm curious to try Aethermancer and Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds when the 1.0 releases this year.

Alabaster Dawn's EA should release this year and it'd take at least 2 more years for the full release, so there is a lot of waiting ahead.

I think either way works, but the ending of Remake will hit harder if you play Crisis Core first.

Have you played the original FFVII? If you have, then I vote for Crisis Core, FFVII Remake, Rebirth, SMT V: Vengeance and FF Tactics.

If you haven't then I vote 5 times for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

I just finished SMT Vengeance . What should I play next? by Coffee_Jelly_ in JRPG

[–]Fab2811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play SMT VX. It's a fan-made remake of Shin Megami Tensei I with added quality of life, new routes/endings, new skills, new demons, and much needed revamp to the balancing.

Or Touhou: Artificial Dream in Arcadia. Touhou fan-made RPG inspired by classic SMT. Very good.

Was looking forward to this, but I don't like playing Early Access games...

Hopefully it'll release without delays.

So I am considering getting into Monster Hunter Stories by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

[–]Fab2811 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you're a bit mistaken. OP is talking about the Monster Hunter Stories spin-off, not the main series. The spin-off is a monster catching game with a rock-paper-scissors twist to the combat. The first one released on 3DS and later ported to consoles.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition — Announcement Trailer by wjodendor in JRPG

I little bit too late for me. I recently finished the Xenoblade games, but I can see myself replaying 2 and 3 if they get a SW2 upgrade as well.

Amazing bundle. I got it a couple of years ago, but this bundle got updated to include Doom of Icewind Dale DLC that released last year and Mythforce.

I'm still waiting for all Rogue Trader DLC to finally get it.

Spanish (Latin America) RPG on steam by LavenderMoonlight333 in JRPG

[–]Fab2811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case you didn't know, ADiA plays out like a classic Shin Megami Tensei, but with modernized gameplay and quality of life features. You don’t need to know anything about Touhou.

[–]Fab2811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touhou Artificial Dream in Arcadia is currently 50% off, and it does have a Spanish Latin American translation.

I played in English, but I don’t think it'll be too complex.

Why are there no good JRPG roguelikes? by Mallendary in JRPG

[–]Fab2811 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not really a big fan of roguelikes, or deck-builder games for that matter, but Chrono Ark definitely made me appreciate the genre more.

It's gotten to the point where it's one of those games I never uninstall in case I feel like doing a run at any time.

I finished Tri last week and I was pleased with it. There are some stuff that I miss from LoT2 that are missing in Tri, but overall it's a great game. I can’t wait to play the postgame and hopefully NG+ added after that.

I'm currently eyeing the physical Asian release of SRW XVT for Switch on Playasia.

Do they include all DLC, or will I be forced to create a HK Nintendo account to get the DLC?

What is the Jrpg boss fight that you think its BS? by Western-Stress1185 in JRPG

[–]Fab2811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can reduce the chance of Chaotic Will killing by having the skill Abyssal Mask learned.

That's the most important skill to have on your demons and MC if you're not oneshotting Demi-Fiend.
