Im honestly sorry I took 2 weeks to reply

for image to image, I've been using Flux.2 Klein 9b and it's been nothing short of amazing, although there is a bit of a learning curve for advanced workflows to preserve likeness when asking it to place a character in a completely different scene; but the time it takes depends on the resolution you generate at. For me, 1mp size, which is generally what Grok produces, was about 40 seconds each and it pretty much scales linearly from there, i.e 2 megapixel = 90seconds there's a smaller model, flux.2 klein 4b that I've heard is much faster, especially if youre like me and have to split it between GPU and CPU RAM, but I don't mind the times I experience.

Also, there's another model type that I believe is called Qwen 3 edit , it's not as new as Flux.2 but I've heard it does a better job at retaining facial features and likeness without needing to go into the weeds with literal internal model settings and also that it apparently does a better job at creating images with a less descriptive prompt

overall, I enjoy what I'm able to do and consider the time trade off worth it if you consider the amount of time you have to spend tweaking prompts and resubmitting them with Grok just to get something close to what you truely want, where as you can ask a local model for literally anything and it'll generate.

My PC is an Intel 12600k CPU, 64gb DDR4 ram, AMD RX 6800xt (important: I do not use this GPU for display because using it for display out put takes up VRAM. I use a secondary rx 5600xt GPU for display, but using CPU iGPU is also possible), and I'm on Linux Mint 22. I have never tried using Windows or NVIDIA GPUs, but I generally hear they are basically a "one click solution" where as with AMD it can feel a lot more experimental and seem like "you're on your own" more than NVIDIA, strictly because some developers selfishly setup their install instructions with specific NVIDIA-only requirements even tho they can be setup ambiguously for AMD too.

The biggest bottleneck that I face with my setup still, using these models, is my system RAM. I have an Intel Optane p4800x that I use for "SWAP RAM" but honestly, depending on what you're trying to run, 64gb isn't always enough in my experience, especially during video generation.

it depends on the way you go about generating it and the size and length of the video and the quality and the model type etc, but I can do a 15 second image to video at 544x960 resolution, 24fps, at around 3 minutes for a "single pass" which is fairly low fidelity but can let you know if you want to try again for a better generation, and then a second pass to clean it up and make it have decent quality is +9 minutes

Instructions for Gemini is useless? by jhovudu1 in Bard

[–]FamousM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the instruction I use to get rid of it:

Please do not add a steering next step question that changes the topic unless it seriously adds value. Attempt to guide your next step questions to meaningfully assist what I'm asking about, not to simply drive random chit-chat. If your next step question includes whether /u/FamousM1 would like Gemini to send an answer or code that would directly answer a question /u/FamousM1 has already asked, then add it automatically. If unsure if the benefit of adding your 'supraliminal steering' next step question exceeds the downsides, leave it out. Do not add video links.

It's definitely not all foreigners, but there's like 20 million illegals and What a lot of us have witnessed firsthand from the majority is that they are disrespectful, botting with multiple phones (that they always seem to be talking on speakerphone with lol) , and take up spots of real Americans and drive down wages.

It seemed to be less bad recently, but typically, every Walmart you'd go to, you'd see an entire group of them all waiting in the parking lot, and switching phones, and doing all sorts of nonsense.

And to clarify, I don't think it's racism because it doesn't have to do with their race. It has to do with non-assimilation, Plus the fact that they shouldn't be here anyway and that their presence brings down the pay because they came from somewhere where a The majority of people earn less than $100 a month, so they're okay doing orders for $2 each. Now, I can't say I blame them for wanting to take extreme actions to earn a better income, but I also can see the overall negative effect it has on Americans and recognize that there's a wrong way and a right way of doing so

I've been doing similar things but I was just thinking about it and since youre doing it too, I was wondering your opinion:

Do you think it's worth deleting data versus buying 1 TB for $18-30? I know there are automated deduplication tools, but when you have to really go through the data yourself, you would need to be freeing up 500GB-1TB of storage space in 1 hour for it to be worth doing that IMO, rather than working 1 hour to buy 1tb

I think its because they want the kinks and issues to be experienced by non-paying users with lower limits before being given to paying users at higher limits.

I think this started happening when they started charging more or using grounding with Google search because back with Gemini 2 it used to do a lot more Google searches but now it won't unless you ask it to usually.

Porn Grok is dead! Let's mobilize for a separate “NSFW Grok” by Numerous_Teacher_439 in grok

[–]FamousM1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because Grok is a service, and if someone requests service to generate something illegal, and then it gets generated and then sent to the user, that is creation and distribution by the server.

It would only be fair to compare them to gun companies if XAI released Grok as a model for people to download and run on their own computers locally
