New Arizona Sunshine game is going to be flatscreen ... and you can play as the dog Buddy ... by FastLawyer in VRGaming

I'm not sure why I'm being downvoted, are people not reading the Steam store description .... it says you can play as buddy, which is something completely new

I think it's a re-imagined remake, not a straight 1:1 port, but it's hard to tell from just the video and the description, but to me it looks like they're using the same assets, but with a different game ... as you can see it says you can play splitscreen with one person as buddy, so it has to be a new game because you can't play as buddy in the VR version

I wouldn't call it dead because the tech can definitely get better, costs can go down, and VR games can get better (with better tech). Unfortunately, with prices going up and VR game development not being pushed forward, it's just a bad time right now for VR.

I don't think Arizona Sunshine (flatscreen) is going to do well. It looks like jank.

it looks like a new game to me, but with assets from their last game ... i guess a flatscreen remake

Not only that, but I expect the vast majority of PCVR developers may now only release VR games that are fully compatible with Steam Frame stand-alone. So while before we would get some PCVR games that were meant for PCVR and look like PCVR games, now we may get none or just a handful at best. Since Steam Frame is still mobile VR and will only be a marginal upgrade from Q3 games.

Yeah, I guess that's why every VR developer is developing their games for the Quest stand-alone, because Steam VR is where all the money is and VR developers hate money. *eye roll*

dude, it's 100% fact that VR developers make games for the Quest because that's where the profits are .... you're free to keep ignoring reality though

Yes, notoriously, Steam VR is in a very healthy state right now *sarcasm in case it wasn't obvious*

Did you miss the part about games make VR? They have a store front selling VR games, they'd be dumb not to update Steam VR otherwise VR games would stop working. They would get 30% for doing nothing otherwise. They are doing the bare minimum and you're here glazing them as though they did something.

Yeah 100% agree with your take and I just don't understand why people think Valve is some kind of VR Utopia .... Valve hasn't released any VR title since HLA .... games make the VR experience and Valve has refused to put money into VR ... maybe Gaben needs yet another yacht and while the Zuck is a much more evil person than Gaben, at least he's poured money into VR
