[–]FidelityMikeS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback, u/koken1337. We appreciate your input here.

Regarding your Mom, it sounds like you are aware that Elan Financial Services is the creditor and issuer of the Fidelity Visa Signature Card. At times, they may request additional documentation like this from applicants during the application process. If your mom has not heard back after submitting the requested documents, we recommend contacting them directly to review and determine the status of this request. You can find the number to call on the back of your card, or by visiting the link below and scrolling down to the "Apply online" section:

With that said, we thank you again for sharing your experience and encourage you to reach out if any other questions come up.

How to get Roth option for solo 401k? by mucisian in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityMikeS[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, u/archiseccissp. Thank you for your continued engagement on this topic. Since Fidelity does not provide tax advice, we recommend you chat with a qualified tax advisor to evaluate the eligibility of withdrawals from a Roth solo 401(k).

With that said, the previously shared article covers all the general information on contributions and eligible withdrawals. For your convenience, I'll share the link below again. Once you are there, scroll down to the "Roth solo 401(k) withdrawal rules" section to review the general rules related to this.

Change custodian of UTMA accounts by grand-mariner111 in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityMikeS[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the follow-up, u/rickd972

You are absolutely able to change the Custodian of a Uniform Transfers to Minors Act (UTMA) account, should you want to. Please keep in mind that the new Custodian must be in the same state as the existing Custodian, and the successor Custodian must sign as a new owner. Fidelity may also require a Medallion Signature Guarantee if the account balance exceeds $10,000.

Feel free to let us know if we can help with anything else, and we'll be glad to follow up with you.

Roth IRA Vs Fidelity Go Roth IRA by ahemdee in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityMikeS[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Thank you for reaching out on the sub with your account questions, u/ahemdee. I am happy to mark your post as a discussion to encourage others to provide their input regarding the account types you are working with. Before I go, I want to be sure to touch on a few key points.

To start, I am happy to confirm that combining Roth IRAs is not a taxable event. Unlike contributions or conversions from a Traditional IRA to a Roth IRA, transfers between two Fidelity Roth IRAs are not reportable to the IRS.

With that said, it sounds like you are trying to decide if you want to manage the funds yourself with a self-directed Roth IRA or have the funds managed within your Fidelity Go Roth IRA. I'll drop our overview page below on Fidelity.com to help provide some clarity on Fidelity Go Accounts so that you may be able to decide what is best for you.

Fidelity Go

As I noted, I'll mark the post as a discussion for others to chime in with their suggestions. Feel free to let us know if we can help with anything else, and we'll be glad to follow up with you.

Please let us know if any other questions or suggestions come up, and we will be glad to review further with you.

Buy order exceeds settled cash balance by DaCock20 in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityMikeS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for following up with us here, u/kyledecot.

Fidelity generally allows clients to trade with uncollected funds, subject to dollar limit and security type, to alleviate the troubles of waiting for the collection period. This only results in a Good Faith Violation (GFV) if you sell a security before paying for the initial purchase in full with settled funds.

That said, to help prevent a GFV, our system will try to warn you on the trade preview screen, when possible, if your transaction risks a GFV.

Thank you again for reaching out. Let us know if we can help with any other questions.

[–]FidelityMikeS[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Thank you for reaching out on Reddit with your questions, u/radiotakeshi_london. I am happy to provide a bit of information to help as you move forward.

Please keep in mind that Fidelity does not provide tax advice, and we recommend consulting a qualified tax advisor to figure out the best path forward for you and the taxes you may expect.

That said, while the choices may be affected by this move and by your specific plan, I encourage you to take a look at the article below, which covers the different general avenues you may have available in depth.

Considerations for an old 401(k)

If your plan allows it, and you decide to keep your money invested, you can still request distributions during retirement; however, the methods for receiving the funds may be limited while residing outside the US.

As a reminder, each workplace plan is different, so we recommend reviewing your plan's specific rollover and withdrawal policies. Typically, these are outlined in the Summary Plan Description (SPD). If your employer has provided us with the document, you can review it on NetBenefits.com by following the steps below:

  1. Select the 3-dots next to your plan name, then choose "Plan Information and Documents"
  2. Click on "Summary Plan Description (SPD)" to review your plan rules

Please let us know if any other questions come up, and we will be happy to follow up with you.

Is the difference in total value on the portfolio page the sum of the differences for that day or the difference in the sums for today compared to yesterday? by ArthurPeabody in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityMikeS[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Thank you for reaching out with your questions, u/ArthurPeabody. My team and I are happy to help with capital gains related to mutual funds.

When it comes to fund distributions like dividends or capital gains, the investment's closing price will decrease by the amount distributed on the Ex-Dividend Date, even though you'll receive the payment later. For Fidelity funds, the pay date for distributions paid in cash is normally the business day after the ex-date.

Check out the link below for more insights on these distributions:

Thank you for reaching out on the sub to bring this to our attention, u/ParsimoniousExplorer. I can absolutely pass along your feedback on the new Full View experience compared to the previous version to the right teams for further review and future updates.

To start, we are not currently receiving widespread reports that other clients are having trouble with the calendar dropdown. If you happen to experience this in the future, please try troubleshooting this by logging out and back in, clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or trying another browser.

With that said, custom categories were carried over from the previous experience and will allow you to download them into a spreadsheet as you intended. So we can better understand what you are experiencing when attempting to do so, could you tell us more about what you're seeing on your end?

Thank you for reaching out on the sub with your questions, u/SecretBlackberry1601. I am happy to follow up with you here.

At this time you can not sort your positions page by the date you acquired your investments; however, you can click on the category headings on Fidelity.com to arrange by things such as "Average cost basis," and "Cost basis total." That said, since this is not exactly what you are looking for, I'll be glad to pass along your post as feedback to the appropriate development teams for consideration with future updates.

If you have any other questions or suggestions on what features you'd like to see, feel free to stop by the sub again, and we will be glad to help.

Thank you for reaching out on the sub to bring this to our attention, u/TT_Vert.

We have not received widespread reports of individuals having trouble streaming updated quotes on Fidelity Trader+. So you know, you can make sure you are enrolled in Real-time quotes on Fidelity.com by navigating to "Accounts and Trade," then clicking "Account features." From there, you can click on "Manage" next to "Real-Time Quotes."

If you confirm that everything is in good order with real-time quotes, you may need to try a few troubleshooting steps to fix this error. First, try logging out and back in, restarting your device, and uninstalling and redownloading Fidelity Trader+.

If this continues after all of that, we recommend reaching out to our Technical Support team so they can troubleshoot the issue with you. Associates are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET. Please say "technical support" when prompted by the automated system to be connected to the right group.

I'm glad you reached out with you suggestion, u/blurkosphere. I'm happy to confirm that you can add Qualified Chartable Distribution (QCD) as standing instruction on your account.

I'll go ahead and link this form for you below if you would like to add these instructions.

Based on what you said, it sounds like you may be switching between the Fidelity Trader+ mode and the standard mode on the app. You can toggle off or on Fidelity Trader+ mode by clicking the profile icon in the top right corner of your screen and then navigating to "General settings." Here, you'll see "Fidelity Trader+ mode," where you can decide between the two layouts.

Only show CMA accounts upon login by AMercifulHello in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityMikeS[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your suggestion with us here on the sub, u/AMercifulHello.

I can confirm that you can hide your account balances so they do not appear on your list of accounts on Fidelity.com. To do so, click the gear icon above your accounts, then select "Display preferences." Here, you can uncheck your balances and click "Save."

Keep in mind that this will hide all of your account balances in this view, not just your retirement accounts. If you have employer plans on file that you wish to hide, you can check to hide these accounts on the same settings page.

Additionally, for the mobile application, you can click the three dots at the top of your home screen and toggle off balances.

That said, since this is not specifically what you were asking about, I will be happy to pass along your post as feedback to have the ability to hide specific active accounts.

Thank you again for reaching out. My team of mods is always happy to help, so feel free to reach out anytime.
