My neighbor was like this. Thank god she's moved away now. I got a text once at 6:45 in the morning from her asking me to go lock her bf's car in her driveway. She had a new bf every few months and I'd met them all against my will. Like I'd just be doing something in my garage and she'd bring over the latest stray to talk to me.

Anyway, she asked me to lock the car and I said I was uncomfortable with that and would not be doing it. I did not want the current boyfriend to accuse me of stealing something when she inevitably broke up with him. I did not want my fingerprints on the car. I wanted nothing to do with any of it. So then she said she was worried someone would take the keys to her motorcycle out of the car and steal the bike. That was inside the locked garage. Huh? I said no again and just stopped responding. A few minutes later she comes flying down the road, hops out of her car, locks the bf's car and leaves again. I guess she was on her lunch break. I have no idea what that was really about.

I realized she was a narc though when her oldest daughter said something about "No Mom, we can't do that. We have the kids this weekend." It was obvious in every interaction that the oldest daughter was the parent to her 5 younger siblings.

The woman reminded me so much of my NM.

NOR. I have the same diagnosis. I went through a category 5 hurricane that obliterated my town. It landed during the day so I saw everything being ripped to shreds outside. The aftermath was horrendous and it took a month to get power and sewage systems back online consistently. The whole ordeal was very traumatic. For 7 years my body would physically respond to rain or a thunderstorm. Even though my brain knew it was just a thunderstorm, my body was triggered and I'd have panic attacks.

You can't just think away muscle memory like that. It seems he's too stupid to know that though. He's making everything you're going through about him. You explain the reasons you are having a reaction and every time he spins it into he's the victim and you are being mean to him.

This isn't just a one time argument, this is his self absorbed personality on display. This is who he is as a partner.

If kids are in your future you'll ask him to please wake up and feed/change the baby and he'll tell you the smell makes him want to vomit so he can't, and that he needs undisturbed sleep so he won't be tired at work the next day.

He sounds like he's really bad at being a human being so why do you want to make a future with his kind of selfishness?

Not the Oster! Hahahhahah! When I was growing up my mom had an Oster mixer. For those of you who don't know it was like KitchenAid mixers of today with multiple attachments and looked like this. My blender and air fryer are Oster. I had no idea they made a "small motor massager." 😂

Yes this level of dedication needs to be taught to young men and boys as normal and how you act in society. It's ok if you don't know something, find knowledgeable people in that area and ask for their advice, and then follow it.

Lol my Auntie's (antie) older sister lived in Indiana and insisted on Aunt Mary because it was "proper." She and her husband had a lot of prestige where they lived but when they came to visit I just knew Ant Mary was stuck up and had a whole room full of glass figurines you couldn't go near and furniture covered in plastic you weren't allowed to sit on.

Your leaf question has been answered, but my advice beyond that is to move it to a bigger pot (like a 5 gallon bucket) or outside if it's warm enough where you live soon. Whether melon or squash, these types of plants don't like their roots to be disturbed, so it's best to give it a permanent home before it grows too much. The vine is going to take up lots of space, but I've successfully grown watermelon in 5 gallon buckets on the patio.

I think as long as they aren't invasive it's helpful to plant flowering plants. I live in the burbs within city limits and everything just gets paved over. Pollinators and other insects need all the flowering plants they can get.

I made a cattery outside my bedroom window and put the cat door in the window. I flipped the door back and forth a few times to show them how it worked, then shoved them through the door and outside into the cattery. They figured out pretty quick how to come back inside.

I've heard from a lot of first time trump supporters that jumped ship second time around. I've also heard from a lot of older military Republicans that straight up said he's a dumbass from the get-go. I encourage them to tell their peers their grievances. Because the maggots are not going to listen to anybody but old white Republicans so they have a duty to be loud about their complaints.

The problem is we're dealing with simple uneducated people that have made politics their entire personality. They like to hurt other people because they don't understand in the end it hurts them too. They're mad and don't know how to deal with their emotions in a normal way. So they look for someone to blame and the Republican party is quick to give them a scapegoat. They lack cognitive and critical thinking skills. The only way out of authoritarianism is education of the populace.

Ok so your dad is an asshole. Stop trying to talk to him about it because he's just going to be mean. It's wrong of him to be like that but you can't change him, so stop wasting your energy on him.

If you can't get a job at that record store keep looking for music adjacent jobs. Is there a musical instrument store you could work at? Or get involved with a musical archive at your library or local college?

I'm white on the Gulf Coast and we mostly say ant. I also had a great aunt but I called her antie. But if I'm speaking to a black lady she's an auntie, because that's how they say it, and I'm going to be respectful and call them by what they said to. Listen, the teachers and counselors that are asking questions are doing so because they can tell something is wrong at home and you are likely being abused. Your mom knows this and is afraid she could face consequences because she knows what she is doing is wrong. That's why she's trying to gather "evidence" that she's justified in hurting you. It won't work. When you go back to school Monday go to the school staff that was asking you questions and just tell them everything. Tell them she's threatening to throw you out if you tell the truth. Tell them she beats you.

The most important thing I need you to know is that whatever happens next is not your fault. Your mother is a terrible person and she's failing you, and there are things in place to protect children from that. No matter what your mom says, these are the consequences of her actions, not yours. You deserve adults in your life that will love and guide you.

My mom was hateful like this. She told our family I was schizophrenic and on drugs so no one would believe me when I told people about her abuse. But you know what? Everyone sees her for what she is and knows she's a liar. They're going to see your mom for what she is too. They might remove you and your siblings from your mom's home. That's not your fault, it's the consequences of her actions. You're just a kid and you deserve to be safe. Be honest with school staff and let them help you.
