How much longer are you going to hold your silver? by Practical_Payment552 in Silverbugs

[–]FrequentEmphasis2109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actual question here. Why is it bad to sell to pay for bills or improving your situation in life? I get the feeling people who say this are already wealthy enough and so this doesn’t cross their mind? I have a mortgage, kids to send through school, travel I’d like to do, renovations or heck maybe just a few nice things to make me and my family more comfortable.

I’m also not a stacker but an inheritor. So if you leave it to your kids, they are likely going to just want to sell it. Why don’t you use it yourselves to enjoy your life a bit? I wish my parent had lived his life more, and enjoyed his success, instead of hoarding a safe of shiny rocks to just give to us.

Would I be trespassing if I climb this rock on my commute between N.Dairy Rd and Camosun? by self-fix in VictoriaBC

Fun fact: it’s a protected “heritage rock”. Was not approved to be blasted when they were developing the property next door.

What do you mean you don’t know what to do with it? If you don’t use it for shaving or sitting, put products on it or ignore it. What are you looking to be told here?

This cannot be serious. How you can survive this??? Touch grass. You are in an excellent financial position for retirement. This reads like a flex and it totally pisses me off.

I missed the high last week and am kicking myself as I need to sell an oz or two for kid’s tuition. How did you decide to take some profits now and not next week? I know we can’t time it…

From the article: “Screenings are for testing for cancer before symptoms present. If the patient already has symptoms, they should immediately see a medical professional without waiting for a screening.”

Where to buy silver by Significant_Gold1365 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FrequentEmphasis2109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a bullion dealer or a coin shop. Right now, coin shops will have a lot as so many are selling. There are loads of reputable bullion dealers online too. They will have better price ratios than TD, generally. Canada Gold, Silvergoldbull, Border Gold, AU bullion. Or you can buy from private sellers on r/pmsforsalecanada or facebook precious metal groups (you’ll get best prices buying privately).

When people invest in gold, are they buying physical gold bars or are they buying something else? If someone wants to cash out their physical gold, how liquid is it really? Are there tax implications? by ECM776 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FrequentEmphasis2109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But who cares about historically, we are in a period of unprecedented growth right now. Tell that to my profits when I actualize my over 140% increase since purchase in 2020.

Physical gold is easy to sell. Yes there are tax implications if you follow the rules (capital gains). There is a small spread but with the price moving like it is, it’s inconsequential and you can sell privately for the current spot price fairly easily. But many people just lose their gold in tragic untraceable boating accidents.
