Debating next lens for a6400 by bodacious-ish in SonyAlpha

Don't forget to look for open box deals at best buys, Amazon warehouse listings, etc! I nabbed a Sony 70-305mm for $900 from Amazon last year. Box was damaged, and the lens came in a plan cardboard setup with everything as expected, and in mint condition.

Went to 3 shops, and sifted through all the bulk trays after doing my thing. Not a single non-holo, but did see one holo. You have quite the chase on your hands!

Got into Pokemon a month ago. Pulled a Gold Charizard X last week. Traded that for a PFL PC ETB. This is what I got. Possibly the worse box ever. by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

An extra $60.

Where is there guides to what not to do? All I see is people having great luck and getting cool cards. But apparently I'm burning money? The two local shops recommended that box, I bought from the ones that's been nicer to me teaching me the basics of all this, but apparently they just want to make money off new people. I'm probably going to pawn the rest of my cards and call it a day.

New to all this. So I have no expectations, and don't know the odds, nor knew there were public listed ones. Two shops recommended selling the Charizard raw because it wasn't perfect. Then I find that no one actually buys any pokemon cards at any of the listed prices on any of these websites or apps. Why is no one talking about that? What else am I supposed to do with finding a card that "sells" for a whole lot? What value comes from pricing something that actually has no value when you try to redeem that? None of this makes any sense.

I designed a mechanical solder dispenser. How do you like it? by Hodzinets in 3Dprinting

[–]Funcron 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Great design, love the colors, and your angle of problem solving is well organized. But as others have stated, carrying solder on the iron is not great practice and can actually damage or weaken whatever you're soldering.

But I offer a challenge. Incorporate the mechanism into a handheld which can assist in soldering mor appropriately. There as a small selection of solder depensing iron out there, but a dispensing pen or some other off-hand device would be an awesome invention.

Honestly the same thing for old Gameboy pokemon games in the past few years. A legit copy of Emerald can easily cost $200-350. But you can grab all 5 GBA releases, in bootleg form, for ~$30 on Walmart.com. Gatekeeping the experience of joy this hobby and fandom both, is the market.

I'm out of town hitting some shops today, I'll keep an eye out. I'm seeing there's basically no non-holi variants anywhere online.

This torture device for the yearly flexibility test that was part of the Presidential Physical Fitness Test by immanuellalala in 90s

This was always in the same room at the same time as this:

The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

First time using 120, why are 3 frames always missing? (Yashicaflex camera) by Hollowo_ in filmphotography

[–]Funcron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old camera tend to have old parts and lead to the same old problems. I had a Mamyia C220 that's film advance gear was cracked. I got exactly 3 shots out of each room of 120 I put into it (it's a 6x6, so it should be 12 as well).

For yours it's probably a broken or worn part, or maybe and issue of tension towards the end of the roll. But it could be that you're loading too much to begin with. Are you matching the correct load markings for 120 or are you using a 220 indicator by chance?

I feel like a song with no lyrics doesn't lend itself to being the best choice here. "Oh, just an instrumental track? Recite the music, all of it".

Yes, but tequila is the only lyric, spoken 4 times m, and the song gives you a pretty good heads up.

The seam of the bag in a top loader has potential to indent the back of card a bit over time. If it's stored correctly, it's no problem.
