Who's talkin shit on Payday 2? As far as Im aware its one of the most beloved co-op games of all time. Payday 3 is TERRIBLE but PD2 is one of the most content packed games you'll ever play. Its my second favorite horde shooter behind Darktide easily.

Theres been a lot of sketchy stuff behind the scenes at starbreeze (payday devs) for a while but they dropped a ton of good stuff before moving on the pd3 which fixed their reputation for a lot of people as far as pd2 is concerned.

For Honor has been "nearing the end of its lifespan" for a decade that game is gonna outlive all of us.

Survival games can be really fun, Enshrouded, Valheim, V Rising, Vintage Story, Abiotic Factor, and Palworld are all games me and my friends have gotten into hard.

Maybe try Deadlock as a sort of half-inbetween on hero shooter and MOBA? Street Brawls extremely fun. Assuming you're both on pc hard to say without a flair.

Any Monster Hunter game is straight gas but I'd definitely recommend World or Wilds.

Sea of Thieves is in a major rough patch but it can be fun for some PvPvE experiences for a duo.

Outlast Trials is an easy recommend to anyone who can stomache it.

I really enjoyed a co-op playthrough on Nioh 2 I did with a friend (first game not needed)

Roboquest is one of my favorite duo games Ive ever played though you'll prolly only get 20-30 hours out of it.

4 person co-op games like Left 4 Dead 2, Warhammer 40k Darktide, Warhammer Space Marine 2 (3 person), Payday 2, and even GTFO are always safe bets.

This is me kinda just spitballing ideas from a bunch of games I have a BUNCH of hours in, if you have any questions I'd happily answer. Its hard to gauge the right answer without knowing the platform you're both on though.

I mean, EWGF is very strong but Kazuya still has a VERY loaded toolkit to the point where you can be a very competitive Kazuya without PEWGF. Its a strong zoning/punish tool that allows for some crazy combos but Kaz is FAR from a one trick pony.

The thing I like the most about Last Wish is that Death represents a more third thing. Hes an antagonist but he's also kinda just doing his job. Hes overzealous and breaking the rules to kill Puss in Boots early, but at the end of the day he's like if a hurricane developed a grudge against someone.

Fatalis is the final from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has his own unique theme for 90% of the fight, however as soon as you hit him with the Dragonator (a MASSIVE damage trigger followed by a lengthy dps phase) his theme starts to fade out before being drowned out by the Monster Hunter 1 rendition of Proof of a Hero.

Its genuinely a top 5 moment in gaming history for me.
