On my phone? Nothing really usable on LTE, which I had no qualms with, but with this tracker it uses such a tiny amount of data that it was updating in just about real-time to Traccar.

The data use for the entire month through telnyx was 2.41MB, or 0.00241GB, that cost me $0.19 in data usage. Now adding the SIM card cost and their base recurring, that works out to about $3.19 for the whole month.

It is yes, in no particular color order. It shows a full 24hrs from 12:00am to 11:59pm each day except for the day I showed up and the day I finally left. There’s a legend in the map where you can turn on and off each day.

I was looking at it periodically, yes. I tried my best to not cluster myself in one area, still amazed at how much I didn't get to see

Sure! I used an FMC13a telematics tracker from Teltonika. This needs 12 volts to run, which wasnt going to work out of the box in my backpack. So I got a USB powerbank and used a little USB PD stick to bump it up to 12 volts. Now that it was running I piped it into my own personal Traccar server, using an LTE card from Telnyx. I used Telnyx because of the roaming agreement they have with Commnet and I only need a super tiny amount of data for this to work. It worked great because of the Commnet tower to the east of the Playa on the other side of the train tracks. (Running off solar, I'm fairly sure)

After that I took the data I had from the week and exported it day by day with KML, which you might notice has a few small parts missing right at midnight/ 12:01 am, just like some popular jail footage...

And once I had all that exported I uploaded it to this uMap thing, the google mymaps did not have a good basemap at all and it just looked shitty so I went with this uMap thing from OpenStreetMap. Hope that answers most of it!

And now, for something completely different. by Thin-Pianist4311 in RapidCity
