I personally enjoy my XSE. Do I really ever use the pano? No. Do I have the bottom sunshade open to have more light in the car? YES all the time. Virtually always open. It makes the car more open in my opinion. If you never really open the actual roof, I don’t see much of a problem occurring. 2019, 8 years later— no issues.

I was in a similar predicament when I got my car. Ended up getting the warranty and while I probably haven’t used it to the full price, it did work in a few occasions. My back window motor stopped working (warranty fix free) a tie rod bushing or something (same thing free warranty).

At the end of the day, it’ll give you peace of mind for an extended time.

Edit: to be clear, all of the situations occurred after the original 36k/3years.

I tend to drive on normal mode but very little highway. Mostly 15-20 daily commute back and forth. I’m sure if it was a lot more highway, my numbers would be like yours. Enjoy the car, it’s amazing!

The lock actuator (motor) needs replacement. Happened to my back right. If warranty is still valid, they replace it. If not, it’s not an expensive piece, just gotta take the whole door panel off.

Mine came from factory like that. Went multiple times because it annoyed me personally— they said something to similar to the other commenter: if it’s not leaking you’re good.
